ide/ext3 errors on two identical machines
Wondering if anyone here might better be able to diagnose an issue we're seeing, or point me to some guidelines for this sort of thing. There are two machines with identical hardware, both running Red Hat 7.3's stock SMP kernel (required due to third party software). Both have come down with the same symptoms after having run fine for a number of months. The initial errors were these:

Quantum IDE HDD DMA issue.
I am running RH 7.3 with kernel 2.4.18-27.7.x. Recently I have added a new 60GB Quantum IDE hard drive to the server. I have set it up as a MASTER on a separate IDE channel. Two partitions on the /dev/hdc are /dev/hdc1, /dev/hdc2 - both using ext3. For more detailed HDD parameters, this is 'hdparm -i /dev/hdc': ----------------- /dev/hdc: Model=IC35L060AVV207-0, FwRev=V22OA66A,

lshw on a newer Dell
Odd thing: I just installed and tried to run lshw on a Dell R415 running 5.8. It goes through the subsystems it's scanning, hits IDE, and that's it - it just sits there. I've waited minutes. Anyone else seen this? mark

Problem communicating from server to client
Hello, I've set up a tinc "server" named "spitzer" in proxy arp mode, and a client "inspiron" that connects to it. inspiron runs tinc 1.0.16, spitzer runs 1.0.11. Ping and ssh from inspiron to spitzer and other hosts in the network (via spitzer) works fine. Ping and ssh from other hosts in the network to inspiron works fine (i.e. going through spitzer works

Hi Duncan, David, Sean. Agree with Duncan on including associative operation too.

Thanks Sean for the reference. I will go through it and see if i can implement it for generic boolean expression minimization. Intel SATA controller (cmiiw) not recognized by Centos 5.1 installation?
Hi, there, I tried to install Centos 5.1 on a Dell Inspiron 530 box I just bought, but failed due to invalid drive. The installation did not recognize either the DVD nor the hard disk. Joseph from the community said it is likely that Centos can't recognize the controller -- Intel SATA controller (cmiiw). Did anyone solve this problem before? How did you do it? Here's the related

Networking issue, C6.2 LiveDVD x86_64
Good afternoon, CentOS list. I am beginning triage of a rather wierd issue I experienced Saturday with CentOS 6.2 LiveDVD, x86_64. I'm posting this information in hope that someone may have seen something similar.
