Can't access Samba Servers using cable internet access
Hello,
Ever since adding Internet access to my cable account, I can no longer
access several Samba servers on the Internet that I routinely accessed using
my dialup account. I've tried using both the inetd server (with my cable IP
address in the hosts.allow file. I can telnet, etc no problem, so I know
it's working) and running smbd and smbd as daemons. When I try to access the

Random Network Failures
Okay, I've been working with Samba for a few years now, and I've figrued it
out mostly on my own. Now I'm stuck and this problem is slowing down a MAJOR
project in my shop.
Our solid SuSE 7.3 server's network is dying randomly. All services, not
just Samba (2.2.1a) go out. However, it always happens when someone is
accessing DVD projects from our NT 4.0 Spruce authoring

About Released 1.0 alpha5 version
Hi,
I'm woking with dovecot at my work and I would want to upgrade the actual
version to Released 1.0 alpha5 version, but when I saw the download section
at dovecot home page, I noticed that you have only beta versions available.
Because of this, I would want to ask you if since now you only put
available beta versions or those of them will be replace for the next alpha
version.
Thanks for

Active Directory and Samba
Trying to place some working Samba servers in to an active directory
environment, and things are not working.
The server itself seems to work with other services.
I am actually at the point that I can log in to my server using a valid
Active directory log on, so I know Unix and Active Directory are
talking.
I can kinit, do "net ads join"s, it would seem the active directory

form_remote_upload plugin
form_remote_tag does not support the input type=file. This is due to
javascript security limitations. I created a plugin that modifies
form_remote_tag so that if you pass it the option: :html =>
{:multipart => true}, it will submit via an iframe, allowing you to
upload files. It works nicely with file_column :). Currently, it
only works with RJS templates (no :update option), and I only

home lab setup
Greetings all,
I am interested in setting up a lab in my house to run my home phone
system. Can some one point me in the right direction hardware wise for
achieving this goal? I happen to have a few 3com NBX phones, and have
been told that they are SIP compliant but am not exactly sure if I
believe 3com...I would be interested to know if anyone has these things
working on *.

Problem with NTLM
Hi all;
We have Squid 2.5.STABLE7running with 30 ntlm_auth helpers Version
3.0.10-1.fc3. The problem is that on the squid?s cachemgr.cgi->NTLM User
Authenticator Stats is possible to verify that the ntlm_auth processes
are slowly having the flag R (Reserved or Deferred) set and never being
used again (the number of requests stops). This problem goes until there
is no more ntlm_auth

ext3 / ext4 on USB flash drive?
I think this is really an attempt at user feedback, rather than user
discussion. But there's no such thing as a user-feedback mail list.
Nevertheless, others may find this pertinent: why doesn't mke2fs
handle USB's competently? And if it does, why doesn't it reassure me
so? And how can I handle a linux-formatted USB flash drive in the
absence of my system giving me any guidance?

Newbie Question
Does Samba allow me to mount NT (disks) file systems on my Unix (SGI)
