Automatic Printer Driver Download Access Denied
Hi, I have a problem for implementing automatic printer driver download on Samba 2.2.7a. When I tried to upload printer drivers from a Windows 2000 client, I could see the printers were uploaded to the printer driver directory W32X86 under Unix. However, When I tried to apply those changes to the printer driver, I got ?printer settings could not be saved, Access is denied?. The samba is

samba no deleting spool files
I have samba version 2.2.5 with printing patches. printpro 4.2.2 = cups version 1.1.14 (I think) The files queued in /var/spool/samba don't ever get deleted!! They are deleted after they are printed by cups in the cups spool directory. Why is samba not deleting the files? Do I need to specify a pint command? Thanks This is my samba config: # Global parameters [global] workgroup =

strange locks
Hi, I added these lines to smb.conf: kernel op locks = false op locks = false strict locking = true so I could see some locks from the unix level. It worked sorta, I see the locks for big files (but not the locks I was expecting), but for little files it shows nothing: # ./lock_list /opt/testsambashare/mattest.doc # ./lock_list /opt/testsambashare/contents.doc 0 22086 W

Users can create, but not delete files.
I have an ubuntu 8.10 server that is authenticating against active directory (Win2k3) and acting as a fileserver. I used likewise open to setup the AD authentication. If a user creates a file in a directory that he doesn't own, he can modify the contents of the file, but not delete or rename it. The group permissions should allow the user to do this. If the user owns the directory,

Messages in Logwatch / Long usernames
Every day I get emailed Logwatch reports with several entries of the following type. I've tried googling for these entries and found nothing that indicats if these represent any particular problem. We did not have these messages before and nothing really changed other than some RedHat updates. The system generally runs fine (~170 users) with only the occasional authentication glitch.

Hi list, i've upgraded Samba 3.0.14a to 3.0.20b (debian package) and ran into following problem: I cannot change the file-attribute (read-only, hidden, archive) from a file via the windows explorer as an ordinary user. [PATCH][RFC] credit scheduler enhancement, eliminate unnecessary vcpu migrations
Hi Keir, csched_load_balance is used to see if there are higher privileged vcpu in other physical processors'' runnable queue, if there is, then migrate this vcpu to this physical processor. But at following scenario, this vcpu migration is unnecessary. 1. idle_vcpu0 is running on lp0, hvm_vcpu is in lp0''s runnable queue, this happens when hvm_vcpu is just being woken up, 2.

[PATCH] Add RCU support into Xen - Repost
This is a repost of the RCU patch I have posted some time ago. The only change from the previous post, was to move it to a more recent version of xen-unstable (changeset 13386). DST is coming nigh - HELP!
Tomorrow morning my Central Europe will try to steal an hour of daylight by adding an extra hour at 2 am. This event will reintroduce an old but trivial show-stopper for the broader use of Samba. Microsoft has, perhaps intentionally, redefined the summer/winter time reckoning and just acknowledged in a KB article that, yes, MS Windows don't show the correct time, but they show the wrong
