Again ZFS with expanding LUNs!
Hello, I know, that you had this discussion a view days ago but I''m in the installation phase of our new production servers and I intend to migrate the data from UFS volumes to ZFS volumes in near future. For doing this it must be ABSOLUTELY sure that I can resize the SAN LUNs because during the last 4 years I had to double the LUN size every year. I tried to resize a test volume

Hello, It seems I need to restart webrick everytime I modify a module in order for my modifications to be taken into account. Is this normal and is there a workaround? Expect with "real world" returns?
Is there a way to do something like this? class Foo def self.hello(name) "Hello #{name}!" end end Foo.expects(:bar).with("Carl").once assert_equal "Hello Carl!", Foo.hello Basically, my problem is that once you set an expectation, the original code is never executed and is not tested. However, it''s still very useful to set expectations to

Plot of Canonical Correlation Analysis
Dear all, I didn't find any graphical solution in the package "mva" to plot the canonical scores from a CCA (canonical correlation analysis). Does anybody knows how to plot or has anybody already programmed : - the map of the canonical scores, - the graph of the canonical weights, - the correlation circle i.e. the canonical loadings ? Thank you for help ...

associations question
Hello, I have a People table and a Addresses table. A person can have one or more addresses, but should at least have one, so there is a address_id field in People. Now, I would like to have a form to fill the name of a new person and its address from the same place. I could use person.address.country, for example (it works), but I would like to simply use person.country for some reasons

(no subject)
I just ran across this myself. I guess I dont understand why there needs to be machine names in /etc/passwd if you are storing everything in LDAP. Am I missing a configuration option here? Can one of you samba geniuses point me in the right direction please? Thank you! >I have exactly the same bug. Your original email was dated 24 May 2002 >so I can safely assume that either you

PDC and BDC with LDAP and Samba 2.2.4
Hi, I'm trying to build a PDC and BDC to elimenate Windows NT on a network and have load balancing and fault tolerence for users. I've compiled samba 2.2.4 on two servers, working with openldap 2.0.23 with a master and a slave. Replication on LDAP servers works fine. I've set up a domain controller and wanted to set the other server as BDC in case the PDC goes down. Each time i put

Multiple frequencies
Hi! I'm having a small problem with an assignment I have to do. We want to do an anova on some values, given for four different types of medicine. The different sample numbers are not identical (eg for molecule A we have 8 values, for B we have 14, etc.). What would the most elegant way of getting this info into R to do an lm be? I usually try to use data.frames but R categorically

Samba PDC problem
Easy one. I have win98 clients that login and connect to the shares fine. My problem is the user home directory, each user can see their folders and can even open them but they cannot save to their home directory. Each users home dir is setup as 0700 (-rwx------), as are the files and subdir's, which I believe is Read, Write, Execute for the owner of the file. What am I missing? Chris.

Alternating between "for loops"
Dear All, I would like to apply two different "for loops" to each set of four columns of a matrix (the loops here are simplifications of the actual loops I will be running which involve multiple if/else statements). I don't know how to "alternate" between the loops depending on which column is "running through the loop" at the time. ## Set up matrix J <- 10 N

2 (very old) bugs?
Hi everybody, Is someone can confirm me that there are 2 bugs never fixed: - first in the stat command. Only with the -x option. If you execute stat -x on /tmp or /usr/bin/passwd parameters for example, the numeric representation of mode is wrong. The "special" bits are always 0. No suid-bit, no sticky bit! - Second. Because of a missing suid-bit on the newgrp command, this

Newbie
Hi I started studying Bioinformatics at my engineering school (INSA de lyon!) in september. We started learning statistics and did two classes of R hands-on, but I want to learn to use R better. (As in for my every day calculations - I'm in front of a computer anyway so why should I have to take out my TI-30?) I'm having trouble finding some of the simpler stat functions though.
