Will OpenSSH fallback to internal PRNG?
Greetings.
I'm wondering if OpenSSH automatically falls back to the internal
PRNG (such as used on Solaris) when it can't use a better alternative.
The reason I ask is this: the machine I am compiling OpenSSH on has
the /dev/random patch for Solaris 8. I'd like OpenSSH to use
/dev/random
whenever possible, if it exists. However, I'd prefer NOT to have to
compile a separate

icecast + liveice won't play nicely
Michael, I think you are right. However, I cannot
successfully download and install icecast from
icecast.org. When I do so, gzip complains:
--
bash-2.05a$ tar fxz icecast-1.3.12.tar.gz
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: child returned status 1
--
Is the distro corrupt? or am I missing something?
Is there a way to generate the crypted passwords? I
could not get makepasswd.c to compile as

icecast + liveice won't play nicely
I have gotten icecast and live ice both up and
running, but I cannot get them to play nicely

Load Balancing over A Bidirectional and Uni-directional Link
Hi All,
I want to achieve load balancing over two internet
links where one link is both upload and download and
the other link is download only (satellite).
I am running a linux host as a router with one
internet link of 256 kbps which supports about 50 LAN
users. We are not running any servers and all the
traffic originates from the LAN. My first link (say
link A) gives me a bandwidth of 256

I have an interesting problem.
I can run Lotus Notes by itself and Lotus Wordpro by

Why is 'moduli' installed where it is?
[ OS: Solaris 2.8 ]
Curious why 'moduli' is installed in the "--sysconfdir' directory?
Isn't this machine-independent and therefore should go in the
"--datadir" directory?
Also, it seems to me that the datadir/sysconfdir/sharedstatedir/
localstatedir would be more useful if they were set up (or further
expanded) to better support packaging of OpenSSH.

Samba 3.0a20 lldap error: attribute rid not allowed
I am attempting to configure samba 3.0 alpha 20 for
ldap use using the PDC docs provided by idealx.
I have copied the samba.schema file into
/etc/openldap/schema and added the line to include it
in slapd.conf. I also created the initial ldap entries
using the base_ldif they include in their doc.
When I try to add any user (example):
smbldap-useradd.pl -a -m -g 200 administrator -W

My guess is that you have a space at the end of your password.

new to samba, please advise...
Hello all. I'm hoping to get some advise for my
issue. I need to allow other users access to my files
to make changes. They do not have physical access to
the Linux samba server. I want this password
protected so that only those who know the password can
do this. Thanks in advance.

OpenSuSE 11.2 bug, dom0-cpus limit causes xenwatch_cb running 100% and xm command freeze and xend dead
Hi all,
I have upgraded a test machine from OpenSuSE 11.1 to 11.2.
I have found following bug:
the server is a 2x quadcore intel box also 2x4=8cpu
If you limit the dom0 cpu with dom0-cpus= [1-7]:
- [xenwatch_cb] is running 100% cpu and makes var log entry every 65 sec
BUG: soft lockup - CPU#X stuck for 61s!
- xm commands not work
- xend is dead
if set dom0-cpus to 0 or 8:

users access rights
Hello,
I'm running samba v2.0.5a and I have some problems with settings users access
rights to our Projects share.
We have a projects share with project directories:
\\XX\Projects\P1 ... P5
and 6 people : U1 ... U6
All users must have primary group "users".
I need to set permissions for each Px directory and each Ux user.
(For ex.: U1,U2 has rwx for P1/* U2,U3,U6 has
