Strange error messages
Hello, I've configured a small Linux box just for sharing some disks and route the traffic across two networks. This works fine, since Samba can join the domain of my NT4 PDC by Winbind. But I get those strange error messages on my logs, even if all seems to work correctly. This seems regarding to winbindd: Jan 27 11:03:25 wanda winbindd[1015]: [2003/01/27 11:03:25, 0]

NT_STATUS_INTERNAL_ERROR
Hello, a short history, I am using samba 4 with Debian 9 from the repository, 2 days ago the server was broken, but I was copy all the /var/lib/samba directory to a safe place, then I was installed a new server with the same Debian and samba from repository, and stopped smbd, nmbd and winbind, unmask samba-ad-dc and finally copied all the directory from the old server to the new server and started

Problem with decoding number of codebooks
Hello, I'm trying to write a Vorbis decoder (just as a hobby) but I've got a problem with reading the setup header. According to the Vorbis documentation the first data that should be read after the initial 'vorbis' string is an eight bit integer which when incremented by one, contains the number of codebooks in the header. My problem is that whenever I read this number it seems

I see two solutions: 1) the new vcut which I reckon will fix the problem since it has to split and rebuild the audio in a new Ogg 2) an Hex editor, even if just to check what's wrong in the metadata section -Ivo

Samba 3.0.0 PDC + Win2000 Client + Group Policies
We want to build a Debian's unstable samba 3.0.0beta2-1 as PDC with plenty of Windows 2K clients. Joining the domain, Domain Logons, Roaming Profiles, Domain Groups, are Ok. As we thought that Samba 3 cannot handle Win2K's GPOs (isn't it?), we tried NT4 style Group Policies to restrict a bit users posibilities (as we have students as users). Our opinion is that Mandatory Profiles

winbind cannot authenticate with new win2k PDC
Hi everyone, System info: OS: Suse 9.1 samba: 3.0.2a-51 PDC: win2K My winbind was working well with the win2k PDC. I'm using it to control access to my samba shares and subversion repositories. Then they had to change the win2k's hardware. The hostname, domain name, settings, etc. were retained (so they say). And this broke my authentication. I rejoined the domain using net ads

linux and win2k: who is blocking whose messages?
hi all, i know a whole lot more about MS windows networking than i did this morning (but it still feels like i don't know much). the linux samba server is a local, master and preferred browse master. it's also a WINS server. linux's IP address is 192.168.0.2. the win2k machine is 192.168.0.4. the goal is to browse linux's filesystem from win2k's "computers near

Trouble Connecting to Server
Folks, I'm having trouble connecting to my Samba server. The immediate symptom is that I cannot see my Samba server in my Windows Network Neighborhood, and so I cannot connect to it to check my share connections. I'm running SUSE 9.3 on the server, which is running Samba (3.0.22) , a dhcp server (which seems to be running correctly--everyone gets an address when they ask for one),

Samba, Win2K, Network path not found
Hi, I have tried to get my Win2K to access my Linux Samba server without success. The error message I am getting is "Network Path not found". Below are the details: 1. The Win2K is actually a guest OS running on VMWare-2.0.4. The host OS is a RedHat 7.2. VMware uses samba-2.0.6. 2. The config file was based on a working sample, off another VMWare machine. Its host OS was RedHat 7.2

Samba4: W2k clients cannot set / sync time with samba4 AD DC
As a follow-up to this thread (https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2013-April/172892.html) I have created an extra topic, because this is related only to NTP/time sync. I have done some more tests on this topic, as this really hurts and I wouldn't be able to migrate to samba4 in productional environment. We are still using lots of W2k clients which cannot be replaced or upgraded. Well,

Samba 3b3, cups117 and point-n-click blues. Looks like Samba bug? HELP! part 2
I've attempted to do the same using Win2k's APW. At first it looks like it's going to work, but at the very last part it gives an access denied error. It gives the errors AFTER it copies all the files to the server... Here's the log.spleen (my win2k is spleen): unix_clean_name [W32X86/PSCRIPT.NTF] [2003/08/08 16:46:05, 3] lib/util.c:unix_clean_name(580) unix_clean_name

ocfs2 - disk usage inconsistencies
Hi all. I have a 50 GB OCFS2 file system. I'm currently using ~26GB of space but df is reporting 43 GB used. Any ideas how to find out where the missing 17GB is at? The file system was formatted with a 16K cluster & 4K block size. Thanks, Matt -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
