rpcclient enumdrivers enumprinters
Hi all, i'm new to the list and here's my first question : I'm trying to install several printer drivers on my samba server with imprints. I did a package with the NT/2000 and W9x drivers and the mkprintpkg command. Then I used the command install_printer_drivers.pl to install the files in the appropriate directories. So now i'd like to check the drivers available and the

Hi all together, I'm using SAMBA-2.2.0 on SuSe Linux 7.2 and everything works fine except any printig problems with the new "printer drivers download" feature. I'm guessing you meant to copy the samba list with this reply so I am copying it there to get you some more help. IMPRINTS: mkprintpkg.pl unable to expand microsoft cab file
Jerry, Perhaps you could help me with a problem building a Samba print package. I've downloaded the drivers files I need from HP. I run the appropriate mkprintpkg.pl command, but it dies with the following output: [root@tux designjet]# /usr/local/imprints/bin/mkprintpkg.pl --name="hp1050c" --version=1.00 --display-name="HP DesignJet 1050c" -d "HP DesignJet 1050C

I will get a smbd process started. (If this is incorrect please let me know ;) But this morning I did a quick ps -ax on my machine and found *two* smbd -D in the process list. But as far as I know there is no connection to the samba server right now. I did connect to and disconnect from the server yesterday but I would think that that connection would have been released by now. Can anyone

SWAT Admin help (was RE: Is this list still active?)
Hi.. I'm running Samba 2.0.7 on a RH 6.0 box... Now, this box is using NIS for authentication, such that I have no entry in the passwd file, but show up with a `ypcat passwd`. I have made a group called 'swat' and have added myself to it, such that doing a `groups wkim` lists swat as one of my groups. I then `chgrp swat smb.conf` and `chmod 664 smb.conf`. Yet, if I try to access

And route print? Do you have any servers on the WAN? (or is everyone connecting to the servers THROUGH the WAN?) Can you see the samba machines at all in network neghborhood? What happens when you type in the UNC of a samba server manually? (i.e. \\SAMBASERVERNAME) I hope I can help you, and I'm trying, but I'm not a samba guru. -Dan PS. connect to it - wait about 2 minutes and then get 'network is busy' message. I suspect that my problems may lie somewhere in the multiple domains / subnetting areas, but I can't see where. Any comments will be welcome. TIA Harry Burgin Return-Path: <marion.haines@countygovt.brevard.fl.us> Delivered-To: samba@lists.samba.org Received: from gc2a-hplh4.countygovt.brevard.fl.us

response to Luke's Letter [part I]
Folks, As a member of the Samba Team, I want to add a few quick comments and I'll follow up later with more details. 1) The Samba code has not forked. Don't believe any rumors people posted to the mailing lists. Rest easy. 2) There is no dissension among members of the Samba Team. Luke's letter was his own and as all members of the team he is free to move one to other

APW print problems with Samba 2.2.7a & CUPS, enumprinters, setdriver fail.
I'm trying to add print drivers to printers on a Samba server using a NT4 workstations in the past this has worked. I'm currently running Samba 2.2.7a & CUPS 1.1.17, when I attempt to add drivers to the new printer it crashes the NT4 workstation. Prior to the workstation crashing however it does copy the driver files to the server, it then pauses as if the workstation is waiting

enumprinters
The "printer drivers download" feature of SAMBA-2.2 is great. Thanks to the SAMBA team. I'm using SAMBA-2.2.0 and everything works fine except one command: $ ./rpcclient sdprint -U root -c 'enumprinters' Enter Password: rpc_api_pipe: cmd 26 on pipe 703e failed to return data. result was NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL $ I can't say that rpcclient log file is useful for me but

WERR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER if more than 21 printers on enumprinters
If I have more then 21 printers in smb.conf I get [2002/08/15 12:30:50, 5] rpc_parse/parse_prs.c:prs_werror(618) 000c status: WERR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER with the rpc "enumprinters". What the heck is this ? I did check samba.mbox, samba-technical.mbox and groups.google.com yet, but as far as my grep brings me, without success. Other problems I'm fighting with is: -

[Samba 3.0.37] EnumPrinters memory consumption
Hello, i discovered a bug in EnumPrinters. It seems that it allocates many mega of memory, corrupting memory and taking control of a memcpy in parse_prs.c:398 It leads to memory corruption, fatal (and fast) exhaustion of resources and, probably, remote code execution. I attach a file that can be used as a proof of concept. Gabriele Avosani (looking for remote work as programmer, if in need,
