similar to: Remote Win98 logging of Samba/Linux box

When logging into Samba (or onto a share), using an dialup internet modem connection, it seems to take between 50-70 seconds to respond to a Windows request. You can see the request leaving the modem and can count the 50-70 seconds before the modem responds from the Linux Server box. Don't see the same problem if I telnet, ftp or ssh to the server. Hi there Is it possible to configure ssh so that a session can continue/recover after a change of IP? I have a number of static IP dialup accounts and there is no problem using these because when my dialup connection timesout and later reconnects, it gets the same IP and so any existing ssh sessions are unaffected. However, these accounts with static IP's are metered (i.e. expensive ;-).
