Hi all! In the var directory I noticed a log. file that contains: nsswithc/winbindd_util.c:parse_id_list(711) and windbind uid parameter missing (anyone know what parm is missing??) I have installed a new version of redhat 9 with samba and winbindd. Uptill configuring winbindd, it was doing all that I was wanting. I then went onto configure and start winbind. I think this might be caused by glibc 2.28. I saw a similar error with the "doveadm purge" command after upgrading my system to that version.
