Encryption
Hi All, I am using rsync to backup our office server to our Internet server (RHE). As an association for doctors we are looking at providing a backup service for their practices using rsync. As it would be patient data it would need to be encrypted. I have found a few options, namely esync wurt rsyncrypto Does anyone have experience with the above and perhaps like to recommend one? Using the Rprofile file to automatically plot data on Sta rtup of R version 2.0.1.
Dear John, I belive your problem has to do with the sequence of startup. I think that .Rprofile is called before the required libraries are attached. You might like to try putting your code into a .First() function and run it that way. package check - empty line at end of .R file
Dear R-devel members, I'm in the process of building a package (akmisc) for my own use (Win XP, R 2.0.1 Patched - see details at end). As I was adding functions (and hence more source .R files) to my package it got to the point were "R CMD check" failed with the following error (output has been cut). * checking S3 generic/method consistency ... Rprofile file to automatically plot data, tried using the .First command.
No. You put the _whole_ thing into .First(), not just the plot statement. One possibility is to have the code in a script file (say myscript.R) and define .First as follows: .First <- function() source("myscript.R") Haven't try it myself, though. Lattice graphics strip labels for shingles

Question about version 2.0.6 & 2.0.7
Hi, This is my first time mailing to this site. I am running two different versions of Samba on two different servers. 2.0.6 on server A & 2.0.7 on server B In the smb.conf file for 2.0.6 I have a parameter, allow hosts=, that contains multipul IP addresses on each entry & in the global entry. On server B, 2.0.7, I do not have this parameter defined on any entry. My question is :

[RFC] Enable Partial Inliner by default
Hi Graham, I created a bug report with a reproducer for the failures I’ve got: https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35288 I have also found that LTO reverts everything the partial inliner has done. Maybe the partial inliner should not be used at the first LTO phase (compilation). I hope I’ll have a chance to look at the code size regressions this week. Thanks, Evgeny Astigeevich From:

Upgrading to v2.x
Hello shorewall-users, now that I''ve got v1.4 problems solved I''d just like to ask a general question. Are there any real benefits to upgrading if v1.4 does what I want ? I''m not a fan of bleeding-edge in production and I don''t go for "v2 must be better than v1 because it''s newer" Tom, if you have a few minutes, what''s new in 2.0

[RFC] Enable Partial Inliner by default
Hi Evgeny, I just realized that if these are compile-time errors I can help investigate on my end. Do you have something I can use to reproduce? Windows UNC''s
Hi Graham, In that case I''ll have to redefine File.delete and Dir.rmdir in the win32-file package and win32-dir packages, respectively. Please add a feature request on the project page so I don''t forget. I should have it done this weekend. Dan Foster, Graham wrote: > I want to create a long UNC based path.. PGO information at LTO/thinLTO link step
Thanks Easwaran. This is what we've observed as well, where the old PM inliner was only looking hot/cold callee information, which have signficantly smaller boosts/penalties compared to callsite information. Teresa, do you know if there is some documentation/video/presentation on how PGO information is represented in LLVM and what information is passed via the IR? I'm finding some

[LLVMdev] LLVMHello pass compile error under Cygwin

Odd tcltk and Rattle interference on MS/Windows
Hi Graham, Your guess is right. The event loop stuff is handled differently on Windows than on Unix-like OSes. There is a hook, called tcl_do that is hard-coded into the R Windows GUI. It is called whenever the console is idle. RGtk2 is able to hook into that to process GTK+ events. The problem is that the two packages replace each other's handler. So in this case tcltk is blocking GTK+ from

[RFC] Enable Partial Inliner by default
Hi Graham, Thank you for offering help. I am trying to create a reproducer. The problem is that the crashes happen whilst LTO is used. One thing I am sure about IR is broken at compile time.
