Can't seem to change "logon script = logon.bat"
Hello, I am running RedHat 8 and have the same problem with both the distributed and updated samba RPMS (2.2.5 -> 2.2.7) and the source dist (2.2.8a). I can seem to change many options but the "logon script = logon.bat" doesn't want to change. This is what I have in my smb.conf file : [global] ...some stuff... logon script = %U.bat logon drive = H: [netlogon]

NTLM refuses to work on a DC
Hi there, I'm trying to get FreeRADIUS to authenticate against my Samba DC. It's Samba 4.7.6-ubuntu running on Ubuntu 18 (kernel version 4.15.0-66-generic). It came nicely packaged with Zentyal, which provides a nice GUI for managing a domain, as well as a CA and lots of cool small features. That same Zentyal also includes support for FreeRADIUS (3.0.16). This is my smb.conf:

Winbind AD authentication problem
It seems I have the same problem that was discussed briefly earlier on this list in a mail from Kris Kaido. I didn't see any solution, so I'm wondering if it's considered a bug that needs to be fixed or simply a configuration error. To be more specifc; I have joined a Win2008R2 Forest/Domain AD with my server running RHEL5.4 - samba-3.0.33-3.14.el5 without problems. I can view

In krb5.conf, set these : ; not used for nfs4 but cifs might need it. ; for Windows 2003 ; default_tgs_enctypes = rc4-hmac des-cbc-crc des-cbc-md5 ; default_tkt_enctypes = rc4-hmac des-cbc-crc des-cbc-md5 ; permitted_enctypes = rc4-hmac

mount cifs with sec=krb5
Hi, I am trying to mount fileserver (samba, 10.20.30.16) shares on a linux domain member server, where I logged on via ssh using AD my credentials. I am unable to get past the "mount error(126): Required key not available" error message. I have read and googled a lot, and could use some help. See this: > domainuser at memberserver-45:~$ sudo tail -f /var/log/debug & >

domain users in local groups with Winbind/Samba/Redhat
Hi, I am running a Samba 2.2.7a on Redhat 7.3 in a NT domain. For authentication I am using the domainusers. This is done by Winbind 2.2.7a which verifies the existens of the users on the PDC. So I dont't have to create local users (/etc/passwd) for users who want to connect to the shares in the smb.conf. I authorise them by adding valid users = domain+domainuser to the smb.conf. This works

Ldap Samba and problems compiling
Hi, I got 2 problems :- 1. I was compiling samba-2.2.7-4.src.rpm on Redhat 8.0 system and with the option --with-pam_smbpass. It always fail when I am doing a rpmbuild -ba samba.specs. The error is similar to the person who posted on http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba-technical/2002-September/039415.html but no one answered him. I was also compiling with the following extra options:-

Virtualisation of Netware?
Hi, I am hoping someone can kick me up the learning curve (!) on Virtualization: We have an old piece of data logging software that was written in Turbo Pascal 6 using a file I/O module tuned to Netware and so it expects its data files to be on a Netware server and will not access them locally or via an MS/Samba share - essentially, it uses direct NCP calls for parts of its data access. Performance Samba 2.0.6 / FreeBSD 3.4 vs NT and NetWare
I'm getting samba setup, and it seems to be working. I have PDC/BackupPDC issues to resolve, and want to change things so the NT PDC authenticates users instead of setting them up using smbpasswd. Right now, I can access the samba box from Win98 and WinNT workstation with "manually setup" smbpasswd's. I have been testing performance and am a little disappointed, I hoped samba

Netware copy fails
Affected: Various 2.x.x releases of samba on Solaris 2.6/8 and Netware 5.1 SP5. Problem: Unable to copy files from a mapped Netware drive to a mapped samba share on a PC desktop (W2K). Error: Several, but commonly "Cannot copy MYFILE. Access is denied. The source file may be in use" or "An unexpected network error has occurred". Has anyone seen similar? It appears that some
