DNS - L I V E S .........
Andrew & Kenny - Thank You! DSN will talk to me again! I still don't have the dynamic DNS completely right, but God it sure is nice to have nslookup speaking to me again. I couldn't have done it without your help. Ok, here is the status. Like a numer of us, I have the uncanny nack of making life far too difficult for myself. Problem with 1.2.3pre4 and RSAref
The following code snippet will not compile support for RSAref on NetBSD even if it exists on the system (which breaks OpenSSL): for WANTS_RSAREF in "" 1 ; do if test -z "$WANTS_RSAREF" ; then LIBS="$saved_LIBS -lcrypto" else LIBS="$saved_LIBS -lcrypto -lRSAglue

Tru64 UNIX SIA in 2.5.2p1 is hosed
Something really hosed Digital/Tru64 UNIX SIA support in 2.5.2p1. I haven't been able to figure out what changed in the code, but the symptom seems to be that the TTY name being registered with SIA is truncated to eight characters. This apparently prevents it from matching with entries in the tty database, and the dreaded "Cannot obtain database information on this terminal

problem with centos.org whois
It looks like someone pooched a domain transfer, and the whois entry for centos.org is missing its NS records. I've sent an email to the whois tech contact @redhat, but I'm sending this to the list to hopefully bring it to someone else's attention, as well. Hopefully it gets gets out before my mailserver expires its DNS cache for centos.org. Expect centos.org to be offline for a bit

Re: Logon Hours problems (really stuck)
Hi guys, Unfortunately this is still happening I've tried restarting Samba. Users who should be denied access after 21:00 are being denied access at 19:00. Our time zone in South Africa is GMT+2. Perhaps I should set the timezone on the server to UTC/GMT ? Do you think this will help ? Should I then leave the time set to the current time in South Africa ? Or should I set the time to the

CCM 6 and Asterisk routing again
Running Cisco Call Manager 6.1 and Asterisk 1.4. CCM is connected to a T1, Asterisk is running strictly VoIP over the network and using CCM as the trunk. Calls from the SIP phones connected to Asterisk work fine. They can call both external numbers and any Cisco extensions attached to CCM. Calls from CCM to Asterisk fail without any notification in Asterisk (and I DID have this working at one

Potentially serious (but rare) issue with buffer.c and cipher.c
While rototilling packet.c, I did some looking at cipher_encrypt in cipher.c. It ends up that for SSH_CIPHER_NONE in cipher_encrypt, it uses memcpy. However, it also appears that dest and src can be equal in cipher_encrypt. On most sane libc implementations, memcpy == memmove. However, ANSI C makes no such guarantee, and some implementations out there are bound to try to optimize memcpy

RE: [SLE] SuSE 9.3 and Latest Binaries - Library Conflict
Cross-posting scares me, but... Have you looked at the latest RPMs for SuSE, from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/samba/ ? They've worked like a charm for me, thus far (revision after revision, a simple rpm -U * seems to work...) -----Original Message----- From: david rankin [mailto:drankin@cox-internet.com] Sent: Mon 9/12/2005 5:30 PM To: samba; Suse Linux Subject: [SLE] SuSE 9.3 and

Hosed installation
Hello, I seem to have hosed my installation while trying to replace a failed brick. The instructions for replacing the brick with a different host name/IP on the Gluster site are no longer available so I used the instructions from the Redhat Storage class that I attended last week, which assumed the replacement had the same host name.

[OT] Hosed ImageMagick Kills Gruff
This is off-topic because it''s installation specific, but I wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction. I installed ImageMagick and RMagick on my MacBook Pro using Darwin Ports and the normal gem install, respectively. I got the dreaded "bus error." I read Tom Mornini''s discussion about installing GraphicsMagic and then RMagick, so I used port uninstall

Hai, For bind, please to add this for bind if you use bind_DLZ. How : systemctl edit bind9, or create the file manualy and run systemctl daemon-reload after. Fedora Updates Hosed Wine
So some specs ... Fedora 10 (32bit), Wine (v1.1.15). I installed warcraft 3 and frozen throne expansion, when I did a clean Fedora 10 install with Wine 1.1.15. Things ran well for the most part, once in awhile war3 would throw up and error just after launching, all I had to do was relaunch the program and I was good. I was using opengl. The March 23rd some new updates came down the pipe for my

DLZ Backend DNS Hosed
Louis, I appreciate your efforts with my predicament. I'm very sorry to say that your advice hasn't gotten me to a solution. After updating my /etc/network/interfaces to put my localhost IP address first (192.168.3.201, for example), saving, restarting services, rebooting, running "samba_upgradedns --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ", saving, rebooting, etc., I still cannot add, edit or

samba as PDC in FreeBSD
Hello all, I've set up samba as a PDC in FreeBSD 5.1-release. I seemed to have no problems joining my computer to the domain as it said "Welcome to the domain" but when I try and log in it says it can't contact the domain controller or the domain account doesn't exist. Can anyone offer any help on how to fix this? Here is my smb.conf. Kind regards, Elvar [global]
