Book on Postfix/Dovecot or Postfix/Dovecot/Clam/Spam Assassin?
I'm looking for a book on Postfix/Dovecot or Postfix/Dovecot/Clam/Spam Assassin The blog posts and the mini-HowTo's I am reading lack the detail to be useful to me (due to my own ignorance). Amazon does not list any books for sale. There are some hits when searching for Dovecot, but I expect them to be one section with the quality of a blog post or mini-HowTo. (I have two books on Red

Microsoft Monad Shell
Not sure if this has application for R but Microsoft's new Monad shell is now in public beta. I have not looked at it myself but I wonder if the tools that are required to create Windows R packages could be replaced by this? ---- The Monad team has recently released Monad Beta 3.1 to Microsoft Download Center and we're working diligently towards a release of Monad 1.0! Winbind problem - 3.0.20a and NT4 domain
All - We are using 3.0.20a on SLES 9 and are trying to configure a member server for our NT4 domain. The wbinfo commands (-u and -g) show correct information. The getent commands (passwd and group) work fine also. If Samba is running without winbind, I can see the shares in the config file (net view \\xxxxxxxx) from a PC. With winbind running I get an error message about the computer name

blocking file locks
Hello all, As a Samba programming newbie, I've run onto a question that doesn't have an obvious answer in FAQ or googled literature. I need to lock large numbers of files on the server, and have Samba open requests block until they are released. I found references to "blocking locks" in references such as "Using Samba" (O'Reilly, 1999, 2003)

Network IP address
Hello all, Quick question. Our network has NO connection to the internet (the way we want it) but we are using 66.2.x.x as our IP addresses. However, I am now reading that 192.168.x.x is the preferred naming convention. If I leave as 66.2.x.x will I have problems with Samba? Because I dont connect to the Internet do I need to change? Thanks in advance and hope Mr. Gerard O'Reilly Intranet

machine account (NT Workstation type, not backup). Then you will need to run smbpasswd -j <nt domainname> -r <your NT domain controller netbios name> You will still require a username in the /etc/passwd or nis database for all of you NT users that you expect to access shares on the Unix box, but if there only access will be via samba, you won't need to administer any passwords

FW: : Re: Multiple smbd processes generated
Dear Dave, Doesn't this only work if you're using samba as a domain controller and the client says "net use h: /home" I've not got it to redirect "//server1/username" to "//server2/username" when the NIS map says "user server2:/path/&" Though if it could be done I'd be VERY keen.
