Hi everyone, I would like to know if it's possible to start the smbd/nmbd daemons from an other HP Unix server. The installation of Samba has been made on a RAID mounted on an other Unix server (the main one). We want to do that because whe need to reduce the working flow in the main server. smbd processes won't go away
Running Samba 2.0.6, on Sun SC1000 (4 CPUs) with Solaris 2.6 smbd processes don't seem to terminate although the connections don't show-up with netstat. The client session seems to terminate, and the connection is terminated, but the smbd process seems to hang around waiting. smb.conf specifies "deadtime=5", and in most cases there is no open file associated with the smbd

Lots of Samba (smbd) processes
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew why there would be so many Samba (smbd) processes running on my SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 system? I found an awful lot of them running, much more that what I would expect given the number of Windows PC's on the network. nmbd won't start on HP-UX 10.20 & strangeness

load balancing and DNAT
Does anyone know if load balancing and DNAT work well together? I know that load balancing and NAT do not, but what about a simple port forward? smbd pids
just noticed the following problem.. after running samba 302rc1(as pdc) for a few day's. old SMBD pid's are left in the procces tree.. eating memory and cpu time, causing linux to overload and not function annymore. after stopping samba, the smbd pid's will stay. stopping samba the 2nd time will do the trick, they finaly disapear... so you have to stop samba twice.. ?? don't

Inconsistency in vector printing depending on length

I'm running samba-3.0.2-7.FC1 on a Fedora Core 1 box. I see this error message in the log file for each user on my network; [2004/03/26 10:55:35, 0] rpc_server/srv_util.c:get_domain_user_groups(372) get_domain_user_groups: primary gid of user [glen] is not a Domain group ! get_domain_user_groups: You should fix it, NT doesn't like that What does it mean? howto answer a call in a queue
hello i need to know how to enable the feature in the agents.conf to make the users got to press # to answer the call when is in the queue and the agent is logged in. at this time the call enters the queue and the agents who is logged in only beeps once and then the call enters automatically. can anybody help me?? changing ip
I require some advice. I've had samba running nicely for a couple of months, however I needed to change the ip addresses for my network. Since changing the ip addresses, whenever I start WinXp and log on it takes about 3-4 mins to log on. Also when I try to browse using windows explorer I sometimes have to wait 3-4mins, then I get the same delay when logging off. If I use dos though and change
