smbfs patch - listing large direcories from an OS/2 server
Hi! Here's a patch that allows Linux smbfs to list large directories (i.e. > 100 items) when talking to an OS/2 server. There is a misunderstanding about the flags sent in the FINDFIRST request which causes the OS/2 server to indicate an EOS (end of search) in the FINDFIRST response, even when there are more items to be listed. The result is that smbfs will display only the first ~120

Login script
Is there a file I can place in the netlogin directory (or anywhere else for that matter) that will represnet a logon script? I want to have my workstations auto-mount particular shares on the samba server, without the user having to make the mount. This way when I add new users, the shares are automatically present. If there is a script I can place somwehre, please tell me what it's name is

smbfs: patch for directory listing
Hello everyone I have recently reported problems reading a certain directory from an NT server on this list (and speculated in causes). I have a few workarounds and now I'm looking for some feedback on what the proper fix is and for people to test if my patch works for them. Please test smbfs with and without the patch on the directory in this zipfile (all files are empty):

Recursive dir errors...
Can anyone tell me what the error is with recursion here? It is keeping my smbclient from giving AMANDA a sice for the share. Without recursion, and stepping through the directories manually, I can do the dir and get no errors. smb: \> ls received 8 entries (eos=1 resume=0) . D 0 Thu Aug 15 09:19:58 1996 .. D

RE: [PATCH] smbfs readdir fix (CFT: NetApp, OS/2)
Vlad. I still got the same problem - 'ls | wc -l' returned incorretc numbers. I installed the following patches with the sequence vs. the kerner 2.4.18: 1. 00-smbfs-2.4.18-codepage.patch.gz 2. 01-smbfs-2.4.18-lfs.patch.gz 3. 02-smbfs-2.4.18-unicode.patch.gz 4. smbfs-2.4.19-pre9-readdir.patch After installed patches, I ran 'make modules' and so on. Any more

Help!!
Hello, I am a Second year PhD student in Dept of Management and Organization from NUS Business School, Singapore. Presently I am doing a multilevel analysis for a small research project with my supervisor. While surfing the web, I found your website on multilevel analysis. These are very useful for the understanding of the concept to me. I was also trying to learn more by completing the lab

symlink-hack for smbfs under linux
I've programmed a quick-and-dirty version of symlinks for smbfs. This hack uses the system attribute and otherwise works much like the ncpfs-hack, that is to say, I write the magic cookie at the beginning of the file. Of course the server has to map the system attribute, which samba notably doesn't do by default. smb.conf entries of "map system = yes" and "create mask =

How to extract particular rows and column from a table
Hello, I'm a new user of R. I've a very big table like the following structure (suppose the variable name with "aa"). From this table I want to make a new table which'll contain just two column with V2 and V6 with some particular rows( Suppose, variable name with "bb"). Constant error messages about failure to remove oplock
Hi All, Need your help/inputs on what could be the probable cause/how to debug this further. We are using samba-4.0.25 & expose a share that has oplocks enabled & no kernel-oplocks set. A problem reading configuration file
Hi! For some time, there is a regression in wine, which disables my Dynatext reader from working. It tries to open it's configuration file but unsuccessfully. The file IS there and former wine versions allowed the program to read it. I was recommended to do a regression tests to find a particular patch but it's too time-expensive for me these days, so I did a full trace and found an

File list Performance question
I have a server running SuSE 9.3 (Samba 3.0.13-1.1). The underlying filesystem is xfs, and the NICs are Netgear gigabit. 2 Gb of ram in a P4/3.0 Ghz. The workstations are windows XP Pro, with all service packs installed, on P4 3+ Ghz, 1-2 Gb of ram. (varies a bit by workstation) I have one particular tree on the server that contains over 12K files in a few hundred subdirs. Breaking it up

copies of RE: what I'd like to do
I'm not getting copies of it, so I don't think it's going to the entire list. Is your mailserver accepting mail, but saying it's down? Are you getting copies of other messages? I suppose this could be a result of the mailservers's moving. Can anyone else confirm that they do or do not get copies of emails every 20 minutes? If it's just you, then it will help track it
