pre2.0.7 disk quota bug:
Since an 'over-quota' or 'disk-full' message is being sent from Samba to the client, it seems obvious that the client _should_ be passing this info. on to the user -- but it isn't. One possible way to get this info. to the client is for Samba to call a shell script similar to the 'preexec' options if quota is exceeded. The script could then invoke smbclient to send a

name_query failed: Samba 2.0.3
I'm stumped on getting Samba to work again on our small network. I've got one Windows 95 machine that started to refuse to talk to Samba last week. I *was* running one of the 1.9.18 releases, but when it stopped working, I figured I would delete the old release and do a clean install of 2.0.3. I've done that, and used SWAT to configure the smb.conf file (which can be seen below).

pre2.0.7 disk quota bug
Hi all, SAMBA pre2.0.7 ./configure --with-quotas Linux 2.0.36 The old disk quota bug is still here. If user tries to write the file to SAMBA share and disk quota is exceeded, SAMBA fills remaining space within the target file with spaces, and writes it to the share. This is "xcopy" behavior. If the program writes small chunks of file, the result may differ. The user is under

Dom0 <> DomU clock sync
Hello ! Just a quick question about time synchronization between xen dom0 and domUs... We''re running Xen 3.1 64-bit, with 32 and 64 bits linux guests. It''s up since 89 days and the domU''s time is around 5 minutes behind the dom0, which is updated via ntpdate... Any idea why it doesn''t sync the guests even that /proc/sys/xen/independent_wallclock is 0 ?

Xen 3.0.4 - Ballooning
Hi, Maybe it''s a dumb question, but I''m actually trying to understand how the memory allocation works within Xen. I try to give 128MB to a domU and see if it increases for example when I "nano" a 500mb file, but the process just get killed when it reachs the 128MB memory limit. How do I configure the guests so they can ask for more memory until a limit is reached

Win7 x64 postscript printer -> samba print Apple Laserwriter not available
Hi folks. I've got a system where my WinXP (they still work well) workstations have a virtual printer installed on them. This virtual printer uses Apple Colour Laserwriter Postscript drivers to generate PS files which are then printed to a linux server where Samba passes the file to one of my scripts which then parses the file, extracts data, coverts the PS to PDF and then inserts the

panic when rejecting registration requests
Another, I assume unrelated, problem that we're seeing is that samba panics every time the nmbd server rejects a registration request. Go ahead and check out what the logs indicate, and if you have any advice, please tell me. I've already submitted this to samba-bugs because that's what they say to do for these errors. -----------NMB Log Level 3------------ *Initial registration:*

OT? PDF printer driver for automatic deployment
Hi, I've got a printing server running Samba 3.0alpha21 (on Linux). The client machines running Windows 2000 are producing PDF files by printing to a "virtual" printer on the Samba machine. The printer driver shall be installed from the Samba server on demand. I need color output, b/w is not sufficient. Everything works fine, i.e. the PDF conversion process and the automatic driver

Re: libvirt 1.19: could not open drive file (permission denied)
@requillart Don't get me wrong. It's no problem to use other partitions. Only, you have to add the location to the storage pool of libvirt... Sorry, no experience with gnome-boxes. @crequill Add a new storage pool with the destination /home/crequill/VM You can't fool apparmour with a link... Also with adding the storage pool, it's easier to get a clear picture of the usage of your

If we cannot use anymore another partitions, for me it's a bug. Not for you? For information, I get this error with gnome boxes. With it, images are in /home/crequill/.local/share/gnome-boxes/images/. How run it? 2015-09-15 17:53 GMT+02:00 crequill <crequill@worldonline.fr>: > Indeed, I have a link between /var/lib/libvirt/images and my home > directory on an another partition.

ogg-cdparanoia.py: small linux cd rip tool
Hi. I guess the world is full of these, one more won't hurt: "The ogg-cdparanoia script is a wrapper of the programs cdparanoia (http://www.xiph.org/paranoia/), sox (http://sox.sourceforge.net/) and oggenc (http://www.vorbis.com/). The process is simple: for each track, cdparanoia is called to extract the audio to a temporary wav file. Sox is used on it to see if it is normalized.
