SWAT Won't Start - Alarm Clock
Hey everyone, If anyone could help me with this problem, I'd greatly appreciate it. Whenever I try to start swat (from the command-line by invoking /usr/sbin/swat), it sits there for a very long time as if it's running, but any attempt to use telnet to the port or point my browser at it results in nothing, as if swat were just not running. Firewalling is no issue, I've disabled

Cannot start SWAT on Solaris 8 server - libiconv.so.2: open
No one on the planet has seemed to answer this question. After an hour or so of trying to fix this problem myself, I now have the answer, at least a temp fix for it. I just linked /usr/local/lib/libiconf.so.2 /lib/libiconf.so.2 in Solaris 9. Seems to get Swat working again. ========= Original message ========= Hi! I'm having some trouble getting SWAT to run on a

SWAT conflicts w/ Apache 1.3 HTTP server???
Hello, I am running a small network, Win., FreeBSD (Unix), & Macs., administering through SWAT. Needing to run an intranet I installed an Apache 1.3 HTTP server running in standalone mode. Now I have lost the ability to access SWAT through the http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:901 port. Guess it requires some special configuration of the server - SWAT runs in inetd mode, will this cause a conflict?

SWAT seems to corrupt WINS SERVER line if multiples are specified
We use real Windows WINS servers, and after a couple of availability problems, we learned that we could specify multiple addresses on this parameter, and use both our primary and fallback servers. At first, I had problems getting it to work, but after looking at the code, I found that the list of addresses had to be separated by semicolons. Since then, I've specified the parm as two

Trouble installing SWAT on a Samba 4 Alpha 13 build on Ubuntu Server
Hello all, I have setup a complete domain using Samba 4 on my Ubuntu server 32 bit machine. I am using the Alpha 13 build (it was actually in the Ubuntu Repos). I am trying to setup swat to make it easier to manage shares. I have followed the instructions at https://github.com/rvelhote/GSoC-SWAT but I am having a few problems. When I run ./run I get the following errors: jenfab at

SWAT reports daemons not running?
Samba 2.0.5a on two Sun E4000's running Solaris 2.6. SWAT on one of them reports the daemons as running like it should but on the other the daemons are _always_ reported as not running, even though they are, and even though the actual connections _are_ still listed on the status page! Any ideas? -- Gang Warily

possible security bug with SWAT logins
I have stumbled across something that I am not sure if it is a bug or feature. I have three AIX servers, one running samba 2.2.2 and two running samba 2.2.5. My browser from my desktop, Windows NT 4.0 SP6, is Netscape 4.76. If I point my browser to each server, one at a time, and log into SWAT, once I have logged in to each server, the first time, I can point my browser back to any of the three

2.0.3 on HPUX 11.0, problem that I can't get past
I'm trying to run 2.0.3 on HPUX 11.0, and thus far have not had any luck. I can run testparm without any error message. I've tested many smb.conf files, some from the examples directories, others from web sites, and many of my own creation, but all give the same set of errors. It's because none of the changes that I make to smb.conf have any impact that I'm starting to think

SWAT login - is password entry secure?
Samba group members, Is the password that I specify when logging into SWAT handled securely? I'd like to use the Samba Web Administration Tool (SWAT) to create and administer Samba "shares" that will be used by our users of ClearCase on Windows. That requires that I log in to the Samba host as "root". I access SWAT via Internet Explorer (from any machine) buy

SWAT features
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, all. I've been working on SWAT in trunk for the last few weeks. My work started as nothing more than a cosmetic redesign, trying to modernize SWAT and offer a clean, sophisticated interface. As I've gotten deeper into this, it seems to me that SWAT could use some improvements to its overall design -- not just aesthetically, but
