Username from rfc822Name subject alternative name
Hello, I'm looking into adding support for extracting the username from client certificate's rfc822Name (from the subjectAltName extension). The question I have is what would be the best approach to do this? Current implementation has a kind of clean code since it just goes through the subject name, extracting the values with X509_NAME_get_text_by_NID (while NID is obtained with

Dovecot 2.1.4 and client certificates
Version: 2.1.4 OS: Gentoo stable/amd64 OpenSSL version: 1.0.0h I'm having a slight problem with the client certificates in Dovecot 2.1.4. I've set-up the client certificate verification/authentication, and it seems that Dovecot is choking on the trustchain with CRL's that I'm providing to it (attached to this mail). The Linux was treated as the Samba server. All of the file/printer sharing from the Linux samba server to the MS-Windows 95/98/NT clients are OK. It only got problem in the Windows 2000 (since Beta3) as the client. The

Samba 1.9.18p10 released.
The Samba Team are pleased to announce Samba 1.9.18p10. Note that the 1.9.18p9 code was not distributed due to a problem discovered during the final QA testing phase. However, in order not to allow any confusion about versions the Samba Team are upping the patch revision number to ensure we can identify a particular release of code exactly. VERY SERIOUS smbclient problems w/samba 2.0.*
All, With the belief that, "given enough eyes all bugs are shallow", I submit the following to the list. Overview: Pulling files from an NT 4.0 machine to a RedHat 5.0 linux box using 2.0.3 or 2.0.4b smbclient *consistently* results in
