Strange "feature"
Hi all! Doing my first steps with OCFS (1.0.9), I ran across a nifty little "feature".... We've been trying if DMP with QLogic 2300 HBAs works without having DMP activated (ok, blame on me...). ocfstool allows you to mount different partitions on the same mountpoint, but after we tried that, everything went to state "D" and we chose to reboot the whole cluster (4

Authenticates right on AD server, but still no access...
I have a linux (redhat 8.0) samba server that is a part of a Windows ADS. I have gotten user authentication to work fine (I THINK), but still I have some problems with access to share. The strange thing is that I can access the share from smbclient (on the linux server: #smbclient -d4 //Bones/share -U foo where user foo has no user on the linux box itself, so the authentication is done

unix2dos automatic convertion
I'm looking for a way for automatic unix2dos conversion of our SAMBA shared Solaris 8.0 files.txt, and I don't know where mail list to ask for. I already use the unix2dos versions of NT/W2K and Solaris but it needs manual command to be issued. R 1.8.0 Windows-source compilation-internet.Rout.save
Let me firstly thank the R Core Team for their tremendous efforts in providing R 1.8.0. My following comment should therefore be understood as an "fyi-only". I source compiled R 1.8.0 for windows with ATLAS (source compiled, too). Everything works fine and R is running flawlessly! However, running "make check" stops during processing "internet.R". I checked the

Package update: 'urca' version 0.3-3
Dear R-list member, an update of package 'urca' has been uploaded to CRAN (Mirror: Austria). In the updated release unit root and cointegration tests encountered in applied econometric analysis are implemented. The package is written in 'pure' R and utilises S4 classes. In particular, the Johansen procedure with likelihood ratio tests for the inclusion of a linear trend,

License Question
Dear All, I learned about R during my studies at Cologne University of Applied Science. Now I work at Allianz Dresdner Bauspar AG and I would like to install R here too. Is there any license issues that need to be taken in consideration, any fees to pay by the company? I know there are answers to this in the FAQs but I didn't really understand the legal language. Could you therefore just give

Server disposal
Can anyone recommend a mailing list or other resource for finding a home for old server hardware? I've got a growing bone pile of retired Dell and Supermicro rack servers. I've stripped the drives and memory but hate to see the other old parts go to waste, like old RAID controllers and other proprietary parts.

SVD with positivity constraints
Hello, I have a matrix equation, Ax=b, that I need to solve for x. x should be a vector of positive numbers (between 0 and 1). A is not a square matrix in general. This lead me to using the SVD. However, using the SVD gives me positive and negative numbers, as well. I have some constraints included in the A matrix itself (i.e., that the sum of some xi should be equal to 1) but I do not know how

1.21 vs 1.3 encoding speed
Hello, I'm on a Mac and I'm noticing that encoding via the flac command line is significantly slower with version 1.3.0 than 1.2.1. I'm encoding a 24/96 file to flac, both from wav and aiff and both formats are showing the same speed decrease when using 1.3.0. To give an idea of the speed decrease, encoding at flac level 8: 24/96 wav file 1.21: 61.05 seconds. ratio=0.690 1.3: 222.48
