ACL in Linux and AIX
Hi, As I can see in the last mailing list I am not the only one to get problems with ACL support in Linux. Whatever the samba version (2.2.4, 2.2.5) the main problem is how acl and extended attributes can be implemented fine in linux. I've installed samba on AIX systems where acl is implemented (native) and NT ACL works fine at each time (the only difficulty there is that nsswitch is not

Vector of matrix
Dear statisticians, I would like to save results for a "for loop" in a vector previously created. My result would be of class "matrix". I tried the following script: Script: #Creation of a previous vector n.Tree<-2 VectorX<-rep(1,n.Tree) #loop for (i in 1:2) { Ti<-MatOccurTree[Tree[i],1] #number of observation for Tree i Xi<-matrix(data=1,nrow=Ti,ncol=2)

Verbose output from R CMD check
I've been developing a package called foobar for a couple of years now. It has evolved through various versions, but has always contained compiled C code. Recently, R CMD check has started generating the following message [START QUOTE] R CMD check foobar_1.7.5.tar.gz * using log directory ?/home/david/foobar/package/foobar.Rcheck? * using R version 2.15.2 (2012-10-26) * using platform:

How to calculate the index "the number of species combinations"?
I want to analyze the co-occurrence of some species. In some papers, the authors said that the index"the number of species combinations (COMBO)" is a good index. I try to calculate the index by R language. But I can not get the right value. I think that I do not understand the concept of the index because my english is not good. The concept: *The number of species combinations *This

login reporting (utmp?) problem on Linux
I have recently compiled and installed openssh-2.1.1p1 on a linux box. The login reporting does not seem to work properly. When logging into the box via ssh (protocol 1) utmp shows the user logged in and the tty properly, but the field for the login date/time and the field for originating host contain all NULLs. Is anyone else seeing this same behavior, or have I just done something really

Printer banner always 'nobody'
I've had this problem as long as I've been using samba: every time anyone prints from a PC they get a banner page labeling them 'nobody.' Now, I realize this has to do with the guest account being 'nobody,' and the server is passing that name to the printer. It can get very frustrating, though, when lots of folks use the same printer and all of the jobs have the same name

can't enable selinux CentOS 6.5
Hey guys, For some reason I can't seem to enable SELinux on this one host. Here's my SELinux config file: [root at beta-new:~] #cat /etc/sysconfig/selinux # This file controls the state of SELinux on the system. # SELINUX= can take one of these three values: # enforcing - SELinux security policy is enforced. # permissive - SELinux prints warnings instead of enforcing. #
