Asterisk and Dial-Up ISP
Yes, I know this is lame, but my location limits me to using a dial-up ISP. I am running asterisk with a T100P and a TDM400 card. I currently have dial-on-demand setup on the same box, using diald and an external modem. To prevent DOD from trying to dial out during an external call, I have an AGI script kill diald before initiating a call, and then restart it at the end of the call by looking

This nic runs dhcp and dns forwarding. The other 3 nics have external dynamic IP addresses. All will have the same gateway. There are 3 NICs because this is a very large pipe, that will only allocate a

Does anyone have Samba working with diald
I can not seem to get Samba and diald working together. Whenever I log in to my Windows 95 computer and it tries to map my drives to the Samba server diald dials and then the drive does not map. If I wait a minute or so and then right click on Network Neighborhood and do a find computer my Samba server shows up. I can than log on to Windows again and it maps the drive fine. Or I can unload diald

Problems with TDM400P & X100P
Hi, I had ordered a TDM40B and developers kit a few months ago. I have everything installed and working, with one exception - sound quality. When placing a call it sounds like a very bad cordless phone - lots of hiss / static in the background. This even happens with the dialtone, though it is much worse one the call is connected. This does not occur when the phone is directly connected to the

Different deviance residuals in a (similar?!?) glm example
Dear R-users, I would like to show you a simple example that gives an overview of one of my current issue. Although my working setting implies a different parametric model (which cannot be framed in the glm), I guess that what I'll get from the following example it would help for the next steps. Anyway here it is. Firstly I simulated from a series of exposures, a series of deaths (given a

Exposing home hosted services on internet with tinc
Hello, I need to build a VPN, and I am not sure if tinc is the right tool to use. I am more familiar with OpenVPN. I have a few boxes at home, behind a router with a dynamic IP address. Those boxes host some services, like web sites, for instance. I have a server hosted online, with a few IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. All addresses being static, of course. I am planning to use tinc on Debian, to

LAPTOP - connected to the internet via ethernet and *wavelan* - problems with the source address
Hello, I have a laptop with two network interfaces: eth0 (LAN) and eth1 (WAVELAN). Now I am looking for a way to route ssh and icpm packages via the wavelan interface and the rest over the LAN interface. My problem is now that every applications binds eth0 interface as default (which results in source addr 192.168.0.2). What I did is using SNAT to change source-address to 192.168.1.2 for packages

Exposing home hosted services on internet with tinc
Hi Andrê, So by nodes I assume you mean the "boxes". I would suggest each "box" gets it's own tinc node(with a static ip) and then on the server it should be a matter of pointing at the ip address of the appropriate box tinc ip address. I've done this myself with WireGuard and it works great. On Mon, Nov 25, 2019 at 7:14 AM André Rodier <andre at rodier.me>

Can''t get NAT access to internet from Dom U in my small network
I have followed the nat advice from this guide: http://wiki.kartbuilding.net/index.php/Xen_Networking#Routed_Networking_with_NAT_2 I have googled internet for weeks and read almost every thread in this forum without getting a working NAT on my system. iptables+iproute problem
Hi there. I have followed some documents found here and there, but do not have already success implementing a script using iptables and iproute. What I need is to send all traffic trough an ADSL line, but mail trough an expensive and slow DS0. The mail server lies on the PC acting also as firewall. I include the script. When using that I get some error messages (I found that the flush command

IAX2 trunk with on demand Internet link
Hi, I'm connecting 2 Asterisk servers with an IAX2 trunk. Trunk works fine in testing, no problems there but the Internet at server-A is an "on-demand" system that is based on the amount of http/https traffic going through it (or if the link is brought up manually/via scripting interface). As such there will be times that the link is down....workflow-wise this is not an issue (trunk
