msdfs root in [homes] do not work in XP
Hi We setup a samba server (3.02a ) under Debian, acting as PDC. Clients are w98 S.E. and XP sp1. Server name is box-p In smb.conf we configure: [clouds] ... [homes] ... msdfs root = yes We create dfs links in home directory of users : ln -s msdfs:box-p\\clouds shared When users log into PDC using an win98 machine they find "shared" in his home, and can access it. When users log

Asterisk left in a bad state
Hi all, I'm using asterisk in a production environment now and this afternoon I got reports complaining that it was not working. Looking at the asterisk console output, I saw it contains lots of error messages as printed below. Unfortunately it is not obvious from the logs as to what started all this. Just before the error messages start, everything seems to be working fine with no problems.

Monitor application
Hi, I've had a search through the archives and didn't find much. Is anyone using the Monitor application? I have it working but there is a really big drawback. The files are always called the same thing, which means if I make 2 calls one after the other the first recording is lost. I half expected Monitor to use something like ZAP-2-1-<yyyymmddhhmmss>-in/out.wav for it's

ZFS ZIL + L2ARC SSD Setup
I have some questions about the choice of SSDs to use for ZIL and L2ARC. I''m trying to build an OpenSolaris iSCSI SAN out of a whitebox system, which is intended to be used as a backup SAN during storage migration, so it''s built on a tight budget. The system currently has 4GB RAM, 3GHz Core2-Quad and 8x 500GB WD REII SATA HDDs attached to an Areca 8port ARC-1220 controller

How could I install the asterisk with embede d system?
Just change the install prefix directory in asterisk makefile to something like /usr/local/asterisk, and then you will see all the files needed for asterisk to run. > -----Original Message----- > From: Steven Critchfield [mailto:critch at basesys.com] > Sent: Saturday, 1 March 2003 22:03 > To: asterisk-users at lists.digium.com > Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] How could I install

Long pause between menus
I have set up an auto attendant and all is working but I am bothered by a long pause when switching between menus. This pause is between 5 and 7 seconds and is quite annoying. Is there anyway to address this. One other thing I find interesting is that when I move from the main menu to the sub menu the delay is there but when I move from the sub menu to the main menu the delay is not there.

Printers inaccesible
Hello; I have a strange situation. About a year ago we upgraded to samba-3.0.10 from samba-2.28a and joined the samba server to an AD domain as a member server. The migration went smooth. Everything fell in place just right -- until a few weeks ago that is. A few weeks ago we aquired a new plotter, and while setting it up to be used, we encountered the first problem. We were not able

bug? rsync counts inaccesible file as being transferred
hello, with --stats, shouldn`t we differ between "number of files transferred" and "number of files failed" ? the problem is, that i have files which ALWAYS fail on transfer, and to check for "number of files failed"<=2 would be the best way for me to check if the overall transfer was ok. if i magaged to create a patch to adress this, would such patch be

AW: Exporting Dom0 disks to DomU as SCSI disks doesnot work
Hello Digvijoy, > Does your kernel have inbuilt support for Logical Volumes > ,because your ouptut shows VFS is unable to mount root ,which > means dm-mod and multidevice modules wasnt compiled into the kernel. Multi-device support is compiled into my DomU kernel, device-mapper is built as a module. But I don''t think this has something to do with my problem because

RE: [Asterisk-Dev] Several patches, including recording and music -on-hold
Mahmut, excellent summary :-). I look forward to your next update. One little thing, In the manager events that show start/stop monitoring, can you please include a field that indicates the filename(s) to which the monitoring was written? Thanks, Ben -----Original Message----- From: Fettahlioglu, Mahmut [mailto:Mahmut.Fettahlioglu@oa.com.au] Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2003 5:17 AM To:

RE: [Asterisk-Dev] Several patches, includin g recording and music -on-hold
Thanks Ben, Adam and Petr for the feedback! So currently things that need to be done for the Monitor resource are: 1. Name files uniquely. Adam, your naming suggestion is great. I think we should stick with that, with a minor change: I don't think we should put destination channel name in the file names. In some instances there will be no destination channels (plain IVR: play, record, dtmf),

Monitor application temporary hack
[apologies for no line wrap; config lines at bottom] I have mentioned on several threads here that the Monitor application doesn't do exactly what one would expect: the originating and answering legs of a call are unsynchronized by the duration of the interval that it takes for the answering leg to pick up the phone. This can be very distracting in a final mixed version of the file. Brian

RE: [Asterisk-Dev] Several patches, including recording and music -on-hold
Mahmut, First of all, I'd like to reiterate what a great patch this has been. I'd also like to voice support for having an option to mix the files on the fly, and name them uniquely. While I was able to smoothly put the files together with soxmix, I see on the fly mixing as hugely beneficial to an automated solution to saving/delivering the messages without intervention. One feature,

FC5: "ext_attr" and "large_file" features for ext3 file systems ???
Hi, Fedora Core ext3 file systems newbie questions: Just interested in the Linux ext3 features but got confused with "large_file" and "ext_attr". First, what's the "large_file" feature REALLY means? For file systems created with same commands and options some file systems have it on while some not. It is said that the feature is automatic -- If there is a

Recover original superblock on corrupted filesystem?
I've been trying to use fsck to recover a corrupted filesystem. It appears the original superblock is corrupted too, as it has an inode count of 0. When I start fsck with -b 32760, it uses the alternate superblock and proceeds. However, it restarts from the beginning a couple of times and after the second restart it doesn't use the alternate superblock, stopping instead as it can't

R on Multicore for Linux
Hi all, I have R installed on a box, which is running on a machine with 16 core and Redhat - Linux. I am handling huge (size of dataset will be 5 GB) dataset. Lets assume that my data is in the form of structured (multiple) logs. I access the data by using all.files(). Since by default basic version of R utilizes single core, the processing of my analysis code is taking too much time. I got to

[PATCH 0/2] Fix hangup after creating checkpoint on Xen.
Hi, The following patch series fixes hangup after creating checkpoint on Xen. The Linux Xen guest can be saved the state to restore later, and also created snapshot like checkpoint via the hypervisor. But, when the snapshot is created for the PV guest, it will hangup. We added ''PMSG_CANCEL'' message and ''cancel'' handler in dev_pm_ops struct in the pm-linux
