samba / ggc binarys for HP-UX 9.04
Hello List, I am searching the current samba binarys for a HP9000/827S with HP-UX 9.04. Unfortunately we have only the very basic C-compiler installed, that won't do ANSI. Therefore, out attempts to compile gcc from source failed too. Is there anybody able to send me the current Samba binarys, or alternetivly point me to a location for the binarys? Does anybody know a location for gcc

"No locking available.Running Samba would be unsafe"
Hello again, I sent in this error a couple weeks ago and one person (eric) kindly responded and tried to help, but to no avail. Any one else have any ideas on the following: A couple years ago I installed Samba 2.2.0 on our HP9000 running HPUX 10.20. I am now trying to install it on a customer's HP9000 (also using 10.20) and executing the configure command produces the "No locking

"No locking available. Running Samba would be unsafe"
Hello Samba folks, A couple years ago I installed Samba 2.2.0 on our HP9000 running hpux 10.20. I am now trying to install it on a customer's HP9000 and am getting the error "No locking available. Max Print Jobs Problem
I have setup a dedicated print server running on RH 8 with Samba 2.2.5-10 and LPRng-3.8.9-6 to service a HP9000 printer. The print queue for this HP9000 gets it print jobs from a Windows server via a script and the queue is set to HOLDALL status. The HOLDALL status is necessary because the script runs overnight to produce the print jobs which can total anywhere from 500 to 12,000 individual print

SAMBA Binaries
Hi, Is there a reason that I've been getting "Execute permission denied" errors when I tried to run smbd and nmbd. They are the binaries that I downloaded from SAMBA mirror sites. I was executing as super user and all the file permissions are 755 as well as the smb.conf file currently is 777 in the lib directory. This happens on all of the 1.9.17 rev binaries for HP-UX 10.20. If I

".." not displayed with p8
Hello , I have installed the 1.9.18p8 release on my HP9000 ( HP-UX 10.20 ) . I use the same smb.conf than with the p2 release . I have now a problem with the Windows 3.11 clients : In the subdirectories of each share, I can't display the " .. " root directory . Is it a known bug or just an error in my smb.conf ? Thanks for your help. JF

unable to fetch password
Hello, Less than an hour ago I sent you a message regarding the "Unable to fetch machine password" error I was receiving on our new HP9000 11.23 machine. I have fixed the problem. The -P parameter that was OK in samba 2.2.5 in the smbclient command was causing the error in samba 3.0.14. I removed it and am printing fine. Thank you, - Bill

Files not found on UNIX.
Anyone have any input on this one. I'm running Samba version 1.9.18p10 on an HP9000 HP_UX 10.20. An NT 4.0 server writes files to a UNIX directory and periodically a shell script runs to process any new files found. Occasionally a file isn't found for several hours after it has been created, then mysteriously appears in the UNIX directory. So far this hasn't been a major

Probs with SAMBA(HPUX)<->NT connection
Hi, I have the following problem. We are using a linux box for the export of $HOME to NT-clients. All NT clients are patched not to use encryp. passwords. Now I tried to move everything to a HP9000(11.00). Samba (2.0.6) installation was easy. I've just moved the working smb.conf to the hp and it won't work. :( I tested everything from a linux box as described in diag.txt and it works.
