Printing NT to Linux w\Cannon bjc-4000
I am able to see my printer as a share. Well better put, I see four representations of my printer: ascii, lp2, lp-mono, and raw. I tried the naive thing and just selected lp2 and added the cannon bjc 4000 driver for NT. This didn't work. I get an error report: %%[ Error: undefined; offending Command: K ]%% . . . a bunch of strings that I don't understand. This does not look like the

2 virtual servers?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hello! Probably a stupid question, but... Is it possible to run Samba (2.0.0beta5 or any other version) in 2 completely independent identities on a single machine with 2 virtual ip interfaces? As I understand it you can not run 2 nmbd's, because broadcast packets are only delivered to one of the 2 udp sockets bound to 0.0.0.0:137. If I use the 'netbios

Server disappears from Network Neighborhood
>From time to time someone will comment in this list that their Samba server has disappeared from the list of hosts in Network Neighborhood. Browsing the list archive has yet to turn up any good explanation of this phenomenon. I think I have a clue. This morning my server disappeared again. When I checked the process list on the server I noticed that nmbd had been swapped out to disk. The

Just spent this evening getting printing setup off my FreeBSD machine (oh, how I love Solaris at these times *groan*)...got it now so that I can print directly from Netscape, color and graphics and all. The printer is an HP 560c. Now, I want to be able to print from my Windoze95 machine, and have samba setup for that, as well as file sharing. If I setup my Windoze machine such

samba, ncurses, and sysV printing?
Dear SAMBA Group, I've playing around with getting SAMBA to do things for me. I have an Ultra-1 running Solaris 2.6 and a Win-XP system with a Canon BJC-2000 printer attached to it. I'm trying to get the SUN to print to the printer on the XP box. I have followed various instructions but now when I print as "root" with "lp -d bjc <file>" I get an email message

Printer errors
Hello all, Got SAMBA running on a linux 2.0.32 box, and all is well. Looked over the docs and set up my printer with the (what I think) are correct entries. Basically, what the default smb.conf has. Testparms says it o.k.! And I can print (lpr) locally. Windows sees both printcap entries (inkjet and psjet), but any attempt to pring to them errors out. I then added the print command =

Grandstream GXP2160 + SRTP
Hello, I am trying to setup a Grandstream GXP2160 IP-phone with secure calling (SRTP). Secure signaling SSIP for registration is working great ! I follow this guide : https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Secure+Calling+Tutorial But when I try to make a call with SRTP, I get stuck. There is an initial INVITE which is anwered with a 401. There should follow a new INVITE with a nonce,

Multiple SAMBA servers
Hello, I'm about to install SAMBA in a HA (High Avalibility) solution with Solaris 2.6 and First Watch. I have two SAMBA servers that normally runs on two machines, in case of a failure of one of the machine the other machine is supposed to take over the failed machine's services. Also the IP adress is moved (the machine will now have multiple IP adresses (on the same logical net)). So

Slow Samba Printer initialisation, status, and printing
OK, I have been wrestling with this for two weeks now, so somebody please help ! We have an existing Samba Print Server, running RedHat linux, kernel 2.2.19, that runs fine, but is a P133 with 64 mb ram. So we built a new PC, the slowest thing we could buy, a duron 1 ghz with 512 mb RAM. Old printer server is running Samba 2.2.5, new printer server is running samba 2.2.5, and Slackware 8.1,

Difficulty with Samba 2.2.8 and native CUPS PS drivers
I've recently attempted to convert from the Adobe PostScript drivers for my Canon BJC=2110 printer over to the native CUPS Windows PS drivers and can't quite get things to work correctly. After deleting the printer on my WinXP SP1 clients, verifying under "Server Properties" that the Adobe driver was removed, then reconnecting to my Samba printer, I connect fine but receive

combining lists of pairs
Hi everybody, This has been causing me some trouble: I want to combine several lists of pairs into a single?vector but keep the pairs together. The lists are of the form: (1)?x1 x2 x3... N? (2) y1 y2 y3..? N I would like to keep it this way, simply appending one list to another, e.g. (1) x1i x2i... x1j x2j... N (2) etc. A?method like c(...) does not achieve this. It creates a single list,

Has anybody tried to to compile SAMBA using gcc under SCO unix 5? This may just be a problem I'm having using the gcc compiler, but I'm having problems. I would just like to know if anyone's done it, and any special problems they may have had. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
