I have a problem about plsr in pls package. I want to show how classfied or
related each ohter samples, so I tried to use plsr and biplot.
But, I failed. Because, I had to change data type of my sample.
Unfortunately, I didn't know how change data type.
I want you to help me about that.

AGI and Severe Weather Alerts
All,
I am toying with an idea of using an AGI to be able to 'call'
my phone, or phones, in case of severe weather warnings. I have been
tinkering with a script that reads from weather underground for the
forecast, based off a PHP version of a weather AGI I found on the net.
It seems rather trivial to have the AGI as a script, that does nothing
unless a condition is met, and

[LLVMdev] __sync_add_and_fetch in objc block for global variable on ARM
Hello community,
I faced with bug in multithread environment in objective C code which using dispatch_async and block,
__sync_add_and_fetch increments global variable. But in case of many..many threads> 5, after every
__sync_add_and_fetch got damaged

That's rather a hack, given that the 'l' actually has semantic
meaning, but I suppose I could live

I have a factor object that has 314k entries of 39 land cover types.

Format converters
Are direct bit-rate converters possible for Ogg Vorbis? Or do they
already exist?
Even more, is it possible to directly convert MP3/ATRAC3 (i.e., Sony
Minidisc) encoding to and from Ogg Vorbis?
There has been an earlier discussion on this question. But this
discussion centered around the fact that people couldn't see the point,
and were rather hostile to the idea.
There is a very good

FW: Nat & Sip & Pain
Hi Ray,
I was wondering if the "qualify" option is used [in sip.conf] to keep a
connection (from the SIP phone inside the firewall to the Asterisk
server outside the firewall) open then would the firewall not allow two
way communication without incoming port mapping/NAT (providing that the
SIP phone started "talking" first)?
I'm not sure about that - I'm being

variables - data-structure
dear R-friends,
i`ve got a large dataset of vegetation-samples with about 500
variables(=species) in the following format:

1 spec23
1 spec54
1 spec63
2 spec1
2 spec2
2 spec253
2 spec300
2 spec423
3 spec20
3 spec88
3 spec121
3 spec200
3 spec450

this means: sample 1 (grassland) with the species (=spec) 1, 23, 54, 63
is it possible to get a following data-structure for further

Random structure of nested design in lme
All,
I'm trying to analyze the results of a reciprocal transplant experiment using lme(). While I get the error-term right in aov(), in lme() it appears impossible to get as expected. I would be greatful for any help.
My experiment aimed to identify whether two fixed factors (habitat type and soil type) affect the development of plants. I took soil from six random sites each of two types

best predictive model for mixed catagorical/continuous variables
Would anybody be able to advise on which package would offer the best
approach for producing a model able to predict the probability of species
occupation based upon a range of variables, some of them catagorical (eg.
ten soil types where the numbers assigned are not related to any
qualitative/quantitative continuum or vegetation type) and others continuous
such as field size or vegetation height.
