Error: NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function call (arg 1)
Hi, I have a huge data table with several variables containing missing values. I want to make a simple scatter plot (Mass, HSI) and draw a smooth regression on it. Here are the summaries of these two variables: > summary(Mass) Min. 1st Qu. Median Mean 3rd Qu. Max. 46.0 205.9 272.5 282.6 348.3 610.1 > summary(HSI) Min. 1st Qu. Median Mean 3rd Qu. Max.

Error message NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function call (arg 6) when using knn()
I am trying to use knn to do a nearest neighbor classification. I tried using my dataset and got an error message so I used a simple example to try and understand what I was doing wrong and got the same message. Here is what I typed into R: try [,1] [,2] [,3] [,4] r "A" "A" "T" "G" r "A" "A" "T" "G" f

EM norm package (NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function call (arg 2))
Greetings! I am bootstrapping and I am using EM in the norm package to fill in missing data for a financial time series with each step of the loop. For the most part EM works fine for me, but the following error message is guaranteed before I hit the 200th scenario: Iterations of EM: 1...2...3........348...349...Error: NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function call (arg 2) The following code should

pvclust Error:NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function call (arg 11)
Hi all, I'm new to R and I'm struggling to decipher an error message. Briefly, I am trying to use the pvclust package to do hierarchical clustering of some CGH data. The data is from the Progenetix CGH database. It is arranged as a table where each column is a single case and each row is a single chromosome band. The value in each cell is either 0, 1, 2, or -1. Corresponding to no change,

phantom NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function call (or something altogether different?)
Dear experts, Please forgive the puzzled title and the length of this message - I thought it would be best to be as complete as possible and to show the avenues I have explored. I'm trying to fit a linear model to data with a binary dependent variable (i.e. Target.ACC: accuracy of response) using lrm, and thought I would start from the most complex model (of which "sample1.lrm1" is

Problem in library.dynam problems on Linux
We have R 2.2.1 installed on a Linux cluster that seems to have problems loading either of our shared object libraries for packages. This seems to be happening on both local and global versions of packages that we install. However, we have only noticed this problem in the past 3 months on this R installation, whereas some users had success before then. It could be that something on our system

Anyway I was not able to pass this error once the information I got from the archive it is not very conclusive for this case. I have used linear, radial and sigmoid kernels for the same data in the same conditions and everything is ok. This problem just happens with the polynomial kernel. I send the

fPortfolio prob: maxreturnPortfolio() returns Na/NaN/Inf error
Hi - First posting here. I am using fPortfolio to try and optimize a simple portfolio consisting of 5 daily return series. I want to maximize return subject to setTargetRisk(myspec)=0.08 using only constraints="LongOnly" I can run feasiblePortfolio() using a spec file that specifies the weights, and it works fine. When I run maxreturnPortfolio(mydata, myspec,"LongOnly"),

pasting indexes to variables within loops
Hi all, Hope someone can help me. I start out with a matrix called haplo with 600 rows and two columns. To start with, the elements of the matrix are character strings of 20 numbers. I then want to create separate objects, called ha1-ha600, that are the concatenated 20 + 20 numbers, as numeric. I am having no trouble doing anything except getting the index i to paste to the object ha(i) in
