[PATCHv2 2/3] lvm: modify guestfs_is_lv to take mountable
Calling guestfs_is_lv on btrfs subvolume throws an error. Here we workaround it by taking Mountable instead of Device and returning 'false' for non-device mountables. --- daemon/lvm.c | 6 ++++-- generator/actions.ml | 6 +++--- 2 files changed, 7 insertions(+), 5 deletions(-) diff --git a/daemon/lvm.c b/daemon/lvm.c index 2b61357..4f02206 100644 --- a/daemon/lvm.c +++

[PATCH 1/2] canonical_device_name: Don't rewrite /dev/mdX as /dev/sdX (RHBZ#1414682).
The guestfs_canonical_device_name API was rewriting /dev/mdX as /dev/sdX. This is wrong since (eg) /dev/sd0 is not a device name, so if you pass the canonicalized name back to the API it will fail. virt-v2v was one tool doing this. --- src/canonical-name.c | 1 + 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+) diff --git a/src/canonical-name.c b/src/canonical-name.c index ae7b468..d72768f 100644 ---

[PATCH 0/3] fix btrfs subvolume procession in tools
This patcheset fixes errors in virt-sysprep and virt-sparsify. Here we have a common functionality: is_btrfs_subvolume. Doesn't it make sense to turn it into guestfs API? Also I found an issue. In 'virt-sysprep fs-uuids', the uuids for ALL filesystems are regenerated as many times as many roots are in guest. Is it done intentionally? Maxim Perevedentsev (3): mllib: add checking

[PATCH] Fix mkinitrd detection of LVM root on RHEL 4
RHEL 4's mkinitrd will fail to recognise that root is on LVM when running on a recent kernel/udev due to changes in naming. This patch detects LVM root for RHEL 4, and uses a dirty hack to frig mkinitrd if required. [PATCH 0/3] sparsify: Ignore read-only LVs (RHBZ#1185561).
virt-sparsify shouldn't die if sparsifying a filesystem that contains read-only LVs. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1185561 I thought about trying to make the LV writable temporarily, but I suspect that if the sysadmin has made the LV read-only, then they probably did it for a reason, so we shouldn't touch it. [PATCH 0/3] generator: Allow returned strings to be annotated as devices.
If we want to permit more than 255 drives to be added, then we will have to add the disks to the same virtio-scsi target using different unit (LUN) numbers. Unfortunately SCSI LUN enumeration in the Linux is not deterministic (eg. two disks with target=0, lun=[0,1] can be enumerated as /dev/sda or /dev/sdb randomly). Dealing with that will require some very complex device name translation on the

LVM: how do I change the UUID of a LV?
I know how to change the UUID of Physical Volumes and Volume Groups, but when I try to do the same for a Logical Volume, lvchange complains that "--uuid" is not an option. Here is how I've been changing the others (note that "--uuid" does not appear in the man pages for pvchange and vgchange for lvm2-2.02.26-3.el5): pvchange --uuid {pv dev} vgchange --uuid {vg name} Any
