Re: Sketchup was unable to initialize OpenGl
[Replying to a post from September...] The "cannot initialize opengl" is bug http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14045 The workaround is to set a registry key to tell sketchup your graphics card is ok. See http://wiki.winehq.org/GoogleSketchup for more tips. Caveat: your Asus EAX1650Pro graphics card is ATI-based, and I haven't heard any success stories yet running Sketchup

Re: Google Sketchup 6.x works, but only with xserver-xgl.
So, you have Intel graphics? Which chipset? I hear the 915 isn't good enough for sketchup, but the 945 might be, though you may have to disable DRI. See http://wiki.winehq.org/GoogleSketchup for more info, look at the links section at the bottom.

Google Sketchup 6.x works, but only with xserver-xgl.
wine version: 1.0-rc4 - Installing Sketchup works fine with some minor issues. - Running Sketchup will result in the following error message: "Sketchup was unable to initialize OpenGL! Please make sure you have installed the correct drivers for your graphics card. Error: ChoosePixelFormat failed", and after that the application closes down. As mentioned in several of the test

Google SketchUp 7 won't start again.
About 3 weeks ago I downloaded and installed Sketchup 7 on my Ubuntu Jaunty linux machine with Wine 1.1.22 installed. Since then I have started Sketchup several times and it has always started. Well, day before yesterday I was actually going to use it, but when I launched it all I got was the icon in the taskbar telling me that Sketchup was starting, and then it went away. Sketchup 8
I gave up about year ago on this issue, but now i have removed my win partition and REALLY need to get the good 'ol sketchup running. Already tried basic debugging tips posted on the wiki page (eg. editing registry, turning FX off, unchecking "always show at startup"). Yet no luck. It seems to be loading all tools, even the screen can be seen for a fraction of a second, and then it

No transparency in Google Sketchup's cursor
Dear ones, In Google Sketchup the cursor changes according to the "tool" you're using. What happens in Wine, is that the transparency doen't work. It seems that the transparent pixels of the cursor image are displayed as being white. That shows as a cursor within a white square. There's at least one bug reported that I know of: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23096

SketchUp problems
Hello, I've installed SketchUp 7 on Wine 1.1.20 in Ubuntu 9.04. When I start SketchUp, I get a dialog that seems to come from IE, asking me to save a file index.html that is from somewhere under c:/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Resources/ (I can't see the full path). It keeps on asking me about saving html files and then SketchUp crashes. Thank you for your help, Ittay

linux and wine noob needs help with installing SketchUp
I have Ubuntu 10.04 and just installed WINE 1.2 (because it's stable version). I am installing SketchUp 8, and the installer asks what destination folder to install to. It defaults to "C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 8\" and won't let me change to the Linux format of "home/user/Sketchup" that I think is correct. What do I do? The Wine FAQ states:

I'm attempting to install Sketchup, (excellent Mac and Win 3d sketching software), under Wine 20040914 and InstallShield with no Win partition. I'm running SuSE, kernel version 2.6.5-7.108. I have installed dcom98.exe and my .dlls are set as follows: "oleaut32" = "builtin, native" "ole32"

Drumming up publicity for Sketchup on Wine to attract more testers...
Sketchup seems to be working pretty well, so I just posted http://digg.com/linux_unix/Google_Sketchup_7_working_in_Wine_1_1_11 to see if I could attract some real sketchup users to find more bugs. If you think that's a good idea, please digg it so it can show up on the front page. Thanks, Dan
