similar to: COD4 Performance

Hi folks, Could anyone walk me through getting Punkbuster working for a game of COD4 on Steam? I've got other games working but not COD4, I believe it's a PB issue, but on searching I've tried everything to no avail!

hi i installed cod4 (call of duty ) using WINE ! and it worked pretty well ! but when i attempted to uninstall this game from my computer i couldn't do it ! the installer says that the game is uninstalled successfully but the game is still there and i can play it when i click on it's icon !! i appreciate your comments on this ! my distro is ubuntu 11.04 ;) thanks !

Well I ran into problems a couple of times. I usually run into problems at the checkinstall steps. I have basically started from the beggining uninstalled the version of wine I had read from a number of guides for installing COD4 because none of them worked for me (don't think it was Wine itself) but I felt that was the best way to go. To be more specific (sorry im a noob here with linux)

I currently have CNC3, GTA:SA, COD4 working real good in Wine (amazing AppDB pages!!) but what I'm wondering is: For GTA:SA I have to go to winecfg > Graphics > uncheck Allow Pixel Shader to make the game playable. Yet, if I want to run COD4 or CNC3, neither will start without the pixel shader option checked. Instead of having to go into winecfg everytime to change it in between games
