Extracting desired numbers from complicated lines of web pages
I need to extract the indicted (bold & underlined) numbers from lines coming off web pages. Of course I don't know ahead of time the location or length of the number. What I do know is the tag "Friends", and "Reviews", etc. In fact, it would be good to end up with Value Variable 108 Friends 151 Reviews 5 Review Updates NA First

Halo
I have a strange problem in Halo where the mouse seem to run many times slower than the framerate. Even when the framerate is decent the mouse is choppy for lack of a better word. It's sort of a strange motion I can't really describe, sticky and halting, but it does seem to be related to the framerate in that that faster it is,the faster the mouse is. I have heard of a mouse warping bug

Smbfs problems after upgrading from Woody to Sarge
I earlier this week upgraded from Debian woody to sarge on a machine that does a nightly backup to another machine via a samba share. Since then I have had some issues with accessing that share with I believe are a result of the upgrade. I upgraded the kernel at the same time to 2.4.27-1-686 #1 via apt-get, which might be the related to the problem. Smbfs is version 3.0.6-3

Installing Flash MX 2004: dcom98 is ok but can't getInstallShield to continue
OK, following advice for a clean start I've completely deleted my ~/.wine directory then installed http://wine.sourceforge.net binary/ wine 0.0.20050111-1 [13.9MB] from the winehq repository using apt-get wine. Then I tried to do the same thing (as described in http://navi.cx/svn/misc/trunk/winekb/NativeDCOM.xml): $ WINEDLLOVERRIDES=ole32,oleaut32,rpcrt4=n wine /mnt/hda5/flash/DCOM9

NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
I am new to Samba, but not to Linux. I hope someone here can point me in the right direction. I have installed Samba and it appears to be working, at least as far as I have tested it. However, I have hit a snag in my testing. I have searched Google for several hours but I have not found a solution. On a Linux machine (named "annwn") running Fedora Core 6, I have set up a share, using

nls and rbinom function: step factor 0.000488281 reduced below 'minFactor' of 0.000976562
I  am trying to learn nls using a simple simulation. I assumed that the binomial prob varies linearly as 0.2 + 0.3*x in  x {0,1}, and the objective is to recover the known parameters a=0.2, b=0.3 ..data frame d has 1000 rows... d$x<-runif(0,1)               d$y<-rbinom(1000,1,0.2+0.3*d$x)  table(d$y,cut(d$x,breaks=5));   (-0.000585,0.199] (0.199,0.399] (0.399,0.599] (0.599,0.799]

step halving factor reduced below minimum
Hello,   I am attempting to use nlme to model the response of 19 groups.  I am able to get a reasonable fit of all of the groups to the observed data using an exponential decay model (a*exp-x*b).  The problem is that when I plot the fitted values to residuals, it demonstrates a pattern of increasing variance.   I attempt to model this variance using   Sig3.nlme <- update(Sig2.nlme, weights =

bassrumble still there at 96kbps and below
Hi again, shortly after beta 4 came out i noticed that rumbling artifact oggenc puts into a certain tune of mine. Back then, it was even audible at an ABR of 350kbps. Now with RC2 that bug is completely gone at bitrates of 128kbps and higher. I can hear it again at 96kbps and it becomes more apparent with lower bitrates. At 64kbps, I assume, everybody should be able to hear it. This is not a
