Paltalk
Hi,
First of all I am using Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) with Wine installed.
I was wondering if anyone has tried this program called Paltalk. It is a voice chat program/client. They do provide a web/flash version but it is not the same as the application that is available on Windows.
Initially I couldnt install it using wine, so I read somewhere that I had to install IE4Linux and MSN messenger

How to instruct Wine to use MSIE rendering engine by default instead of Gecko?
Hi,
I need to debug some complex Javascript that leaks in MSIE (no leaks
in Firefox though). For this purpose, I am trying to utilize programs
like Drip and sIEve. Both programs fail under Wine, and my guess is,
they try to use Gecko as the rendering engine (and this is not what's
desired: Gecko works fine with my stuff).
Now, provided that MSIE can be installed under Wine, and works, can

Wineserver is not shooting down
First - Wine is great. I love it totally.
To login into a company website I have to use IE6 - Firefox is not handling the Web Site due to some reglementations.
IE6 runs fine and there are NO problems. Only after exit, the Wineserver keeps running and takes away a lot CPU Power. I can stop it manually (System Monitor -> Process. Right Click and I can stop it (and it relieves the Power from the

I'm a final Linux Revert now, no more M$ for me, and I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 that looks the best distro I'd ever tried after Xandros, I had used wine from his first begining but never tried to contribute in this great project.
So, time's up to do that even that I'm now a Web Developer but I spent some good few years programing for Win32 platform, mostly in ANSI C, I still need

StarAlliance TravelDesk (PC-based timetable app)
The StarAlliance airline network used to have a Windows 3.x-ish timetable program that worked very well under Wine. Now they replaced it by something more fancy and Wine (0.9.59) cannot handle it. The application installs fine, starts up, but then it's frozen. You cannot enter any text in the search boxes and you cannot move the scrollbars.
Can someone help me to get this going?

Hey Guys,
I am at my wits end over this issue.
I have a rails app up and running using WEBrick on localhost:3000 from
my mac, everything is fine.
I would like to test my app in IE, so i am running parallels. To access
localhost from IE on the virtual machine, i use MYCOMPUTERNAME.local in

I had an incident, whereby the caller didn't either hang-up their SIP

find their way back to the Asterisk-PBX and it left the company phone
system in intercom mode with about 90 phones overnight (624mins, CPU

Note: "The default device has been opened to honour attempt to modify trellis settings"
R-help,
I'm using a function whose end result is a trellis plot.
When I call the function I get sometimes the following message:
"Note: The default device has been opened to honour attempt to modify
trellis settings "
leading up to any plot whatsoever.
I call the package 'lattice' within the function and 'detach' after
plotting.
I have to close the graphics
