Errors when running an Install proram
Good Afternoon All, I am new in using WINE (1st try at it in fact) and need some help in running an IE 7 installation program that produces the following error message: *Unable to find a volume for File Extraction. Please verify that you have proper permissions * When I check with Explorer, I have Drive C, H and Z. The only thing that comes to mind is the /Windows/Temp directory... maybe

samba as domain member, access control by domain group membership?
I've searched the documentation, combed the archives and watched the list for a while, and I haven't been able to find a conclusive answer as to whether what I want is even possible. I've got two Samba servers (one 2.0.7, one 2.2.0) functioning as members of an NT domain. Both of them do beautifully with lists of individual user ID's, but I'd like to make some shares

maildir / deliver question
Hi all, I have the following situation: On a qmail toaster I am running (with dovecot 1.2.12 as the IMAP server), spam mail gets automatically put into a 'this might be spam' folder (per user). Now, every user has the opportunity to move that mail into either a 'learn as spam' or a 'this was ham' folder and the mail items will be treated accordingly. As a cronjob, I run

Re: 911 and lawsuits and redundancy
Well, to do an upgrade on a traditional system you have the same issues, perhaps even worse as everything is physically wired to one system. To develop for production you must have a dev environment, a beta test and a scheduled release right? Re: 911 and lawsuits and redundancy
Hi, Most companies we work with, have 'designated' crisis management teams. These vary from the insignificant crisis', through to life-threatening crisis'. There is always an assigned emergency services contact, whose job it is in an emergency, to maintain communication with the emergency services. One of our corporate functions is crisis management - so we have to consider

Apparently the machine that ran the nightly job had a disk failure and some of the cron jobs etc are dead. The commits have been made on Apple's internal SVN server but haven't made it to the

Dummy variable regression
Dear list members, I want to apply AR(1)-GARCH(1,1) model in order to conduct a test of structural shifts in conditional correlations which I previously estimated. To be more exact, first, I estimate the conditional correlations using the DCC-GARCH model. Now I want to check whether these correlations significantly increased after the crisis began. For that reason I have to use dummy variable

Perl vs. R
Dear All, I am being told that R can process text files and strings as well as Perl (and is certainly more elegant). Being an R neophyte I need a little boost to get started. I have a little benchmark program in Perl that reads a delimited file, creates an inverted table and spits the file out again in key sorted order. It's just a few lines of Perl (see below). Can someone write the

DCC-GARCH model and AR(1)-GARCH(1, 1) regression model - help needed..
Hello, I have a rather complex problem... I will have to explain everything in detail because I cannot solve it by myself...i just ran out of ideas. So here is what I want to do: I take quotes of two indices - S&P500 and DJ. And my first aim is to estimate coefficients of the DCC-GARCH model for them. This is how I do it: library(tseries) p1 = get.hist.quote(instrument =

You All Get To Live!
Ok, my little experiment proved my point. Ruby 1.8.6 is not viable for production. Requiring it and dropping the cgi fix back patch isn''t an option. It''s not even clear whether the latest 1.8.6 has any remaining fixes. So, crisis averted. Mongrel WILL NOT require 1.8.6 and now I''m going to dig out where these security fixes are coming from and how to host this kind
