One screen disabled on login with NVIDIA TwinView
Hi Is anyone here using NVIDIA display drivers and a TwinView configuration on their systems? I've got a bit of an issue with such a setup, which started occurring after a recent driver update: I have a laptop that's normally connected to an external monitor (a Samsung SyncMaster), where this monitor and the built-in display on the laptop are set up with a TwinView configuration. Steam Popcap games on nVidia TwinView
I seem to be having a video update issue with Popcap games on Steam using Twinview. Has anyone else run into this problem? (I did try to search for a resolution of the issue, but perhaps my search mojo is lacking.) Situation: Run Steam, Install game (Insaniquarium! Delux), Start Game Symptom: Game starts windowed. Display only updates when I click on it. (i.e Click on Options button, click in

Multi-monitor TwinView DirectX wierdness
I'm hoping somebody can tell me how to fix this. I use Altium Designer 10 with Wine on Fedora 14. I'm using nVidia TwinView with a GeForce GTS450. What happens is that when I have the window on my left screen, I have 3D acceleration, but the GDI text overlays disappear. When I move the window to the right hand screen, I lose 3D acceleration, but my GDI text overlays (PCB trace net names)

Place Windows TwinView Bug
In my current setup, using Compiz Fusion under Ubuntu with TwinView (Xgl w/ Xinerama flag set), I've noticed some strange behavior coming from the Place Windows plug-in. First off, under Compiz, windows are placed depending on what screen they're executed from, i.e. execute gedit from the left monitor and it positions there, execute it from the right monitor and it positions there

Eve Online, compiz and Twinview
Hello, As a Gentoo user i met an issue regarding Eve Online (maybe other games, I don't play that much). For years, I've been using compiz (0.8.4) to enable fullscreen on a single display (dual display using TwinView), as I have serious issues using xinerama. To do so, I'm using a compiz window rule checking for every EVE titled app. But the trick do not work anymore since wine

Compiz not working properly using nvidia twinview
Hi, I am running ubuntu 7.10 gutsy, and I have compiz working on one monitor ( a bit slow though ). When I add twinview to the mix compiz still comes up, and sort of works but: 1. I loose the background and it is replace by all white 2. The second monitor draws about 30% of the new white background, then it ends with a bit of a shadow, and then it continues with black 3.

TwinView (on NVIDIA graphics card)?
Hi, Is anyone here using TwinView with NVIDIA graphics drivers under CentOS 5? Just tried this configuration (I've been using dual monitors as separate X screens in the past), and while it works in a sense, there are a few issue that will probably prevent me from using it for real. Notably, which screen new applications start on (when using the Applications menu or panel launchers) seems to

Setting Resolution Modes in xorg.conf
I asked on the Gentoo forums, and surprisingly haven't gotten an answer. When I run xrandr, I get this output: Code: Screen 0: minimum 2960 x 1050, current 2960 x 1050, maximum 2960 x 1050 default connected 2960x1050+0+0 0mm x 0mm 2960x1050 50.0* I'm using TwinView with a 1680x1050 monitor and a 1280x1024 monitor. And I want to set up some different modes in xrandr. When

Game won't go fullscreen
Alright. So I'm trying to play a game in fullscreen mode but it keeps getting forced into a 640x480 box in the corner of my main monitor. I've got a dual-head NVIDIA card (7900GT) hooked up to two monitors via DVI with TwinView and I'm running Ibex 8.10, KDE 4.1.4. I've run it in the terminal and I get errors referencing XRandR and how it doesn't have 640x480 @60 listed as

dual head question
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Bonjour, I have two monitors and an nvidia graphic card. I uses the nvidia proprietary driver from rpmfusion and have configured the system to use the twinview option. I need to load an icc profile for each screen (they are not exactly the same) and this seems to be impossible under this configuration.... Am I right? So I changed my config:

1680x1050 Monitor
Hi, I just got a new Samsung 226bw 22" wide monitor to replace my previous one. I also have a nvidia 8600gts video card. I can set interactively [through the nvidia-settings utility] the 1680 by 1050 resolution. I have saved the settings in the xorg.conf, but I can't keep it after a restart of X or a reboot. When I restart X, the login is at: 1680 by 1050, then it switches to 1280 by

utorremt systray
Hi I have found that utorrent doesn't display its systray icon unless I switch from dual screen to single screen. When I login to twinview the systray icon is missing but if I use nvidia-settings I can switch to a single screen. and back and have a systray icon. However if I restart utorrent it will be as before and no systray icon. Should I file a bug report here(bugzilla) or with

possible division by zero in screen.c
Hi, In detectRefreshRateOfScreen(), we have s->redrawTime = 1000 / s->opt[COMP_SCREEN_OPTION_REFRESH_RATE].value.i; When the refresh rate is autodetected through RandR's XRRConfigCurrentRate function, 0 can be returned in certain cases, leading to division by zero. An example of this situation would be the DynamicTwinView option in the nVidia proprietary drivers[0] (note that this

Dual Monitor setup on CentOS 6?
Hi. Is anyone here running CentOS 6 with dual monitors configured as a single X Screen? I'm trying such a setup on version 5 (again), using NVIDIA TwinView, and it works in many ways, but there are a number of problems that means it's not too usable - the most important one being that there appears to be no way to control which of the displays new applications/windows will appear

Which hardware component causes performance loss (Starcraft)
Hi all, I would like to know which component needs to be substituted to get a better performance in Starcraft 2. On windows 7 64 bit I get on highest graphics settings something at 30 fps. On my openSuse 11.3 64 bit system with wine 1.3 and nvidia driver I am only able to reach 18 fps or so. My PC: - 6 GB RAM - Intel E6600 @ 2 x 2.40GHz (only 60% while playing) - Nvida Geforce 8800 GTS 768 MB
