In Ubuntu 7.10 with KDE, I have compiz running under XGL. Although Beryl ran fine in Ubuntu 7.04, Compiz will not enable 3D effects such as wobbly windows. Other effects, such as minimize/restore animations, work properly. The machine is a Dell Inspiron 6400 / E1505 laptop, 2Ghz Intel DuoCore2, 2GB RAM, ATI X1400, 1680x1050 widescreen. I have installed Compiz-Fusion on several Ubuntu machines, all different hardware, with KDE. In all of them, the option to shutdown or reset the computer is absent from the KDE logout buttons when running Compiz-Fusion. I am just messing around with wine and World of Warcraft, I am behind a firewall and presently unable to get out to WoW, but can get to the login screen fine. The problem is that I can run it with a clean .wtf (config file) and it starts up ok with defaults (DirectX mode) and seems smooth, I exit and then launch it again and it seems to "stutter" and I dont mean sound, but graphically.

Hi, I was playing around on my laptop last night and installed the 8.41.7drivers from ATi, my laptop has an X1400 in it, not the HD2400 that the drivers were designed for so I understand some things may not function correctly and will cover the observations: 1. So, I am having a problem running this game I installed in the virtual drive created by Wine. I am new to running anything through wine. I had this working on an older version, since 2.6.9 that when I set --delete and --dry-run, I get no "Deleting ******" lines. Also, the --delete-before never worked for me.
