C++ wrapper for speex
hi Tom,
i downloaded your speex wrappers and they're really
what i'm looking for! i really cannot worry about
container support at the moment because i'm working
with real-time audio, and hopefully toward VoIP when
everything else is in order.
im using waveform to capture data from the microphone.
the raw PCM sample is stored in the WAVEHDR
structure's member lpData, and this

Encoding and decoding problem in speex 1.0.4
Hi,
I am using the speex 1.0.4 library from Windows.
I have posted my problem before but didn't get a solution. I am doing an
VOIP project
in which i am recording sound and streaming it to the peer. I wanted to
encode and decode
wav files that brought me to this site.
I am recording sound in the following format:-
m_WaveFormatEx.wFormatTag = WAVE_FORMAT_PCM;

C++ wrapper for speex
hi sirs,
i am only recently studying speex and i'm looking for
a C++ wrapper for speex that has higer-level
implementations for the Encode and Decode functions,
to sort of base my initial understaning of how the
speex API work.
i have in fact created my own, following on the
instructions in the speex codec manual, but i havn't
really made any positive progress. (a lot of people

C++ wrapper for speex
Ronald,
I recently wrote some wrapper classes for the Speex encoder and decoder
for use with my VoIP program. I think they're pretty high level and
easy to use. They handle all buffer allocation internally to make life
easy. Here's a simple little example that happens to use VAD:
// buf is float[] or short int[], buflen is multiple of frame size
// (there is a getFrameSize() method

C++ wrapper for speex
Ronald,
I suggest we take this discussion off the list after
this post.
I don't see any problems with your code. However, I
can make a few suggestions:
1) If you replace the lines:
pSpeexHdr->lpData = (char*)pSound;
pSpeexHdr->dwBufferLength = decodedSamples * sizeof(short);
with:
pSpeexHdr->lpData = lpHdr->lpData;
pSpeexHdr->dwBufferLength = lpHdr->dwBufferLength;

fix focus and alsa for gps software
Hello,
I'm going to use wine to use a gps software on my carpc.
The GPS software runs great but when the window loses focus it hangs
until the windows gets focus back. I guess this is really a fault of
the application, I assume it does the same without wine (I actually
never tried it outside wine so I don't know).
Anyway because it's under wine it's easy to workaround it. I want

Blur is incredibly slow on the intel i915
I'm getting about 1 frame every 7 seconds with alpha or focus blur
enabled. Is this normal? I get around 30-40 FPS when using water on
high settings.
Would framebuffer_object support for the driver be of any use? Would
it make things faster?
Thanks in advance
Sam

dsync incredibly slow
Hi!
While performing a dsync from cyrus imap to dovecot 2.2.12, dsync seems
to stop for perhaps a minute without disk / cpu / memory activity (that
I can see). This happens several times per sync per user so it takes an
enormous amount of time to sync just a couple of gigs of mail.
dsync -D -v -o mail_fsync=never mirror -f -R -u user at example.com imapc:

my file transfers are incredibly slow
My problem is there I download and archive my work to the freebsd server via
samba. When I'm transfering files from the windows -> freebsd I will get
anywhere between 20-100kB/s and from freebsd -> windows I will get a few
mbps. I'm getting no where near a full 100mbps and both ethernet cards are
set for 100mbps full duplex working great. I've tried increasing buffer

Incredibly slow Roaming Profiles
We've just set up an internal domain, and had a single XP Pro machine join
without any difficulties. But we need this machine (and the other handful
with it) to use Roaming Profiles, which is posing something of a speed
issue.
I have logged on, killed the 'You do not own the profile' tidbit, fixed up
permissions, and finally gotten XP to read the profile from the SAMBA server

firefox is incredibly unstable
does anyone else have major probs with Firefox as installed on CentOS5?
ever since the RPM for FF3 came out it has been crashing daily. Usually when I
use Save As... or Browse... or anything else that brings up the Gnome file
picker. After the crash I re-start then the file picker works for a while.
Sometimes it just takes scrolling or click+drag an image or some other random
action. BANG

starcraft problem
Hi all, i have just finished my installation of wine as normal user (see
below). Notepad is running fine, so i decided to run something more fun,
starcraft.
The installation program works, even with sound and all, exept when i decide
to run the previews. The previews run rine, but whithout sound. When i return
to the installation program the sound is gone. But anyway, it does it's yob,

Sound winenas.drv failed to load
Running a LTSP server and Clients system.
On the server using Driver = wineoss.drv (Default) sound is OK but the

Change the flowing section in the config file as the clients use nasd.

winspool.drv
Recently I've been having a problem with winspool.drv taking an extremely long time to initialize - about 5 minutes. I've had no problems running the apps/games I need, but they take awhile to start and can get very frustrating... I've tried placing winspool.drv/.exe from windows xp into my system32 but that only created more problems.
This issue started randomly (wine 1.1.5) and I

WINEPS.DRV built-in: How to fake out bad applications...?
I've been unable to get a [badly written] commercial application to get
past this app's insistence on finding WINEPS.DRV... it complains with
"NO DEFAULT PRINTER SELECTED" -- days of searching, reading, trying
every approach has me tearing my hair out. Worse, my knowledge of C is
ancient (circa 1970)...
Can anyone either suggest a patch or pointer to the best place to add
