String.should_hav_tag
I''ve just upgraded to rspec 0.6.4 and several specs were broken. All
for the same reason. String.should_have_tag doesn''t seem to be
supported any longer.
It used to be possible to write assertions like:
response.body.should_have_tag :tag => "form"
or
"<html><body/></html>".should_have_tag :tag => "body"

Specs for Ajax partials with unicode characters

Not sure if this is more Rails or RSpec related...
I''ve got an app with an RJS view that updates a div in a page with
the contents of a partial. The partial contains a non-ascii
character namely a pound sign.
I set up a simple test app with this RJS view:

page.visual_effect :highlight not working
I just upgraded Ruby to 1.8.4 and Rails to 1.1 and I''m in the middle of
changing my Javascript code over to the Scriptaculous helper functions.
page.visual_effect :highlight, "some_div" seems to be broken. Instead
of fading, the background color of the element stays highlighted.
page.visual_effect works for other effects, though. Any ideas?

assert_select trying to verify the presence of a textarea
Hello,
One of my functional tests looks like this:

The test results in a failure, because the element cannot be found.

insert HTML <select> value into a textarea - Works in IE6, not in FireFox or Opera

inplace editor and textarea
Hi,
I have an inplace editor and I can access the innerHTML value of the
created form. However the innerHTML gives "<textarea>....</textarea>
..."
How can I access the textarea value? I tried to do
innerHTML.textarea.value but it didn''t work. Any ideas will be

How to get TinyMCE editor value( text content)
Hi everybody !
I included one tinymce editor in my rails application. But I cant get
the textarea content from the tiny editor. I dont know how to include
the submit button .
And also I wrote a javascript for getting the textarea content when the
user press the enter button. Its also not working. Why it is.

Rpad textarea handling

I'm trying to write an Rpad that edits scripts. Textarea seems like an
obvious tool, but unlike other input elements, it seems that the
contents are not sent to R on 'calculate'. To illustrate using the page
