enp0s25 disconnect
I tried to boot a Centos 8.2 install CD,
one burned with Centos-8-2-2004-x86_64-boot .
In the setup, it persisted in telling me
that ethernet thing enp0s25 was disconnected.
Nyet.
'Twas working several seconds previous and is working now.
This is a showstopper.
How do I debug it?
Also, whatever else it did,
I now have environment variable

nfs and permissions
My CentOS box is my server for data and some services, including nfs shares.
On my laptop I have folderviews displaying two directories on the server, via
nfs mounts. An fstab line mounts each, such as:
192.168.0.40:/home /mnt/borg2_home nfs nosuid,exec,rw,bg,soft,intr 0 0
From the folderview I have no problem accessing the files and directories.
Now comes the problem. I use kontact, with

CentOS 6 Progress as per qaweb
Greetings-
Is there any updated news on the CentOS6 front? As per qaweb [1], today should be the day of QA signoff and syncing to internal mirrors. Are things still on track?

CentOS Based Infromational Document
For those of you who are either part of the secret cabal, or are otherwise
keeping track of it, there is a new version available.
The current version of the cryptex is version 3.1. It's changed rather
significantly in some areas.

Switching screen resolution on the fly
Is there any way other than CTL ALT + and CTL ALT -
to set and or change the resolution of the X server when I want to.
Is there a way to so take me to "1920x1080" mode and then later
take me to "1366x768" mode.
With xvidtune I see the -next and -prev options but I was hoping for
jumping to specific modes. I so realize I can also edit out unwanted modes
in the xorg.conf but

# Network information
network --bootproto=dhcp --device=eth0 --onboot=on
# Default network to boot
ksdevice=eth0
# Auto reboot (to being next install faze)

However its still poping up and asking me eth0 or eth1 for install?
Has this operation changed?
Thanks,

selinux prohibiting sssd usage
I've got a CentOS 6 machine that's slated to go into production
providing some web and development-repository services.
Part of the environment is gitweb, which works as expected with one
glitch: SELinux doesn't allow gitweb.cgi to query sssd to display who
owns the repositories.
The audit log entries are pretty straightforward, e.g.,
type=AVC msg=audit(XXXXXXXXXXXX): avc:

CentOS 8.2 / missing libc++ (libcxx-devel)
Hi community,
In CentOS 7 there is such rpm (libcxx-devel - it seems from EPEL
repository), but in CentOS 8 it isn't.
How is it possible to have it there as RPM? because alternative to build it
(libc++) from sources is a big headache (I need it in order to build v9 and
plv8 projects)
Thanks

microcode_ctl-2.1-16 hard crash on Intel E5 2667 v4 CPUs
Hello all!
I'm brand new to the mailing list, and I've encountered an issue with the
microcode_ctl package version 2.1-16 being installed during the CentOS 7.3
upgrade. It causes my servers to hard stop and they need to be forcibly
powered off and back on again with the power button to continue.
This RedHat thread https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1398698 details

Up to date guide/information Sendmail SMTP Auth
Hello all,
I've been googling my brains out since yesterday looking for up-to-date
information on this matter, and have found information that is anywhere
from 15 to 5 years old. I'd really like some information that much more
up to date on the subject. Specifically configuring Sendmail SMTP
authentication (_no smart host stuff_).
I've got Sendmail 8.14 installed on a CentOS 7.3

PUPPET - group IDS
hope thus comes under the remit of this mailking list...
We use puppet, and Im trying to come up with "code" that will create two user accounts with a shared groiup ID
eg?
user1 with UID 1000user 2 with UID 1001
but I would like them BOTH to share the GID of 2000
I've tried the following
accounts::groups:? ? jointgroup:? ? ? ? gid: '2000'
accounts::users:
? ? user1:? ? ? ?
