Re: On which /dev/pts/x is channel source
Hi,
I just tested by using "unix virtio" channel instead of pty.
It looks easier to handle.
Thx for help.

[PATCH] appliance: mount also /dev/pts
Tools could require the use of pseudo-terminals, so make sure we have
/dev/pts available in the appliance. The "command" API already
bind-mounts it when running commands, so this is the only bit needed.

Correctly using libvirt to mount /dev/pts and /dev in an lxc application container
We would like to mount /dev and /dev/pts correctly using the libvirt xml
config file instead of doing a bind mount in a container init script we use.
Currently the container config is:
<domain type='lxc'>
<name>CentOS_57</name>
<uuid>ff5d3c04-49e6-a3cc-0a14-ff13625eca3c</uuid>

issue with SE/Linux - sshd not giving access to /dev/pts/[n]
hi there,
i have an issue on my newly created Debian/SELinux/unstable system.
i have pam 0.77 se1 installed
ssh 3.8.1p1-4 (OpenSSH)
and libselinux1 1.12-1.
i can log in as root, fine.
but i cannot log in as an ordinary user, and i had to grant
special permission to the _user_ process (NOT sshd or pam
before a setuid and exec is carried out) to access
/dev/pts/0.

missing /dev/pts and /dev/shm on domU
Hello!
I set up an Xen-3.0.2-3 on an Ubuntu 6.06 as dom0.
Then I installed a paravirtualized Scientific Linux 3 linux
(RHEL3/centos3 clone) as domU. I replaced the modutils.
The systems boot and I can login on console. But I can''t login
via ssh, because the /dev directory seems to be
replaced by a udev process in the initrd.
In detail the folder /dev/pts and /dev/shm are missing

/dev/pts linking option?
Folks,
Does anyone know whether libvirt provides a means for me to guarantee a
persistent link for my guest's virtual serial console? I need to have a
consistent mapping (for example, a symlink that always points to the
correct /dev/pts entry) so I can automate kgdb hookup on boot.

Brian's fix works for me. I did up an SRPM (unsigned) with it in:

xenconsole: Could not open tty `/dev/pts/5'': No such file or directory
Hi, i''m running a two dom0 nodes cluster for HA, and xen domUs running
on top, currently it handles 5 domUs. The issue is that there''s a domU
that can only run on one node, it''s not possible to start it on the
other one. I get a ''b'' status and can''t access the console. Other
domUs can start in either node and I can access their console without

dom0 issues with switching from X to console or starting X
We are seeing a number of machines that (simply running dom0) either fail to start X (for reasons other than the machine
in native mode only working via the frame buffer driver) or fail to switch from (or back to) X to one of the consoles.
This normally looks like a hang, though at least in some cases it''s only X apparently sitting in an endless loop. From
looking at data so far obtained

ssh session output stalls
Hello,
Is anyone else having problems with the ssh session output stalling
when ssh'd to another system and the command is running via sudo and a
pager is being used (e.g., more)?
Too highly reproducible :( to date, all known occurrences have
involved Centos 4.3 servers; makes no difference whether client is
RHEL WS 4.3, Centos 4.3 or FC 5 or WinDoze. Makes no difference if

SSH Console access
I''ve been playing around with this, but have yet to be successful.
I am trying to figure out how to SSH to my Dom0 IP and some static port
and then redirect the "xm console <domU>" into the SSH session. Has anyone
been successful in doing this? Really the only option I''ve seen is using
"screen" on the /dev/pts/[1-x] console device, but that seems overly

[Bug 245] SSH can not log out under Solaris 2.6
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=245
------- Additional Comments From dtucker at zip.com.au 2002-12-14 00:36 -------
Did some digging on this. Carson seems to be correct in that the problem is due
to missing controlling terminal.
I uncommented the setsid() in sshd.c and added some debugging log() calls to
sshd, which generated the following:
sshd[21690]: main: before setsid

Wine & Intel 945 : hangs when switching between X & console
Hi All,
I have been running WINE quite contently for the last year & think it is an amazing product!
There is one thing though that is quite bugging and I would like to share to see if others also have this experience and we can maybe fix..
On my laptop (it has an Intel 945 GM video chipset) I'm having problems when using WINE. Not with WINE itself but more with system stability.

Terminal modes
Hi,
I'm trying to use connect to an openssh server, setting some terminal
modes, and they don't seem to do what I want. Specifically, I'm trying to
disable echo from the server - hence the four modes in the sshd trace below
(53 for example is ECHO).
I've looked at the code. 0 would indicate that the option is negated in
the c_lflag field. And it seems like the modes are
