I'm having problems getting my aastra 480i to register with the asterisk server. I can inititate calls from the phone, but >sip show peers does not show any IP address registered for this phone. I am probably missing something stupidly simple. Anyone have an example config to share or corrections for my configuration? Asterisk 1.2 aastra 480i CT has the 1.4 firmware <sip.conf>

Getting "no service" display on aastra 480i. Sip debug shows an "unathorized" blub when the aastra tries to register. Some reading indicates that 1.4 firmware wants aastra.cfg and mac.cfg in /tftpboot/. There are none. Anyone have basic config files? Or can point me to a good link? All links I have tried, that purport to have config files, are either dead or error out.

I have been using the D-Link DPH-540 wireless VOIP handset, and I really like this phone. We had tried the UStarcomm phone, but the phone is used in a noisy environment and the volume wasn't loud enough. The "problem" with the D-Link phone is the Li-ion battery needs to be replaced and D-Link doesn't sell a replacement battery and I haven't found any after-market batteries.

You would need to give more information really. Your sip.conf file listing the entries for the phones especially which codecs are permitted. A copy of the 'asterisk -rvvv' console output when you make the call. All I get, no matter what I've tried is "Unable to upgrade firmware". tftpd is working because the dialplan freshens, and I have aastra.cfg whatevermacaddressfile.cfg and firmware.st in /tftpboot Am I missing something stupid? Anyone know what the POE draw is for the Aastra 480i phones? We have switches that will do 15 watts on 12 ports but only do 7.7 watts on all 24 ports. A Cisco 3560 switch will do 15.6 watts on all 24 ports. Just trying to find out if we need that much power. Can't seem to find any info on the Aastra site. Comments?

Hello All, I have a need for a wireless solution and have been looking at the Aastra 57i CT phone that have the wireless handset with them. Aastra says they will cover "up to 300,000 square feet".
