Subscribing to events on AMI login
I'm looking at an old app I wrote that upon AMI login would subscribe to events as follows: Action: Login ActionID: myid Username: myun Secret: mypw Events: call, system, security I noticed this old code isn't working, and I *think* that the events parameter of login has been deprecated; I don't see it referenced in:

AGI and AMI in PHP -- What's current?
I'm writing some code that needs to access AMI in PHP. (I'll probably be doing AGI later as well.) I'm looking at phpagi (2.20), but it hasn't been updated since 2010 and appears to be a bit behind current Asterisk -- No event handler for event 'fullybooted'. What PHP framework/library are you using -- and why? -- Thanks in advance,

AMI not responding correctly
I am communicating with Asterisk 13.18.3 over the AMI and issue the command: ActionID: 11 Action: command Command: core show calls And the response I get is: Response: Follows Privilege: Command ActionID: 11 --END COMMAND- But where is the call data? What is going wrong on this system? I confirmed the AMI connection has full read/write permissions. Why is the call data

Problems with the Speex Jitter Buffer
Hi, I am using the JitterBuffer. Since there is not so much documentation I think I dont use it in a correct way. All the packets are recieved (I control the sequence numbers) but the JitterBuffer often tells me he has no packet. I am using it in the following way: I am not sure if I use the ticks correctly but I think it can be set to 20(msec). It is set as a Member in my class and i

Problems with the Speex Jitter Buffer
Thanks for your reply Jean-Marc! this was what I had before. But I decided to restructure it since the thread that plays the sound is a callback from the sound hardware, more or less an interrupt handler. For me it seems more reasonable to waste some memory for to save the decompressed Packet. While I write this I begin to think that it is possible I decompress Packets that are never used

Login by AMI ok, by AJAM fails
I have setup an Ast 11.6 host and I want to login via AJAM. I setup manager.conf, http.conf described in the docs. When I login via the AMI it works fine (see below), but when I login via AJAM the same credentials fail (see further down) Can someone tell me how to fix this? ----------- Connection closed by foreign host. root at pbx:/tmp# telnet localhost 5038 Trying 127.0.0.1... Subscribing to events on AMI login
Ok – so if I forgot to add “security” to the read= line in manager.conf for this user, will that cause the user to be unable to subscribe to the “security” events upon login? (in other words, although subscribed at login, no security events will be shown to this user) Thanks From: asterisk-users [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces at lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Joshua C. 5.5 & gspca
Irritating quirkyness: we have a bunch of videocams. To use, we use gspca. Usually, on an upgrade, I just go into the gspca directory (which appears, from their website, to have not been updated since '07), make clean, make, make install. Having gone up to 5.5, did the same. What's happening now is that it works, delivers the mpgs... but dumps errors in the logs: <snip> kernel:

samba4wins - all ok but how to use nmblookup from my PDC?
I installed samba4wins on two of my Fedora Core 3 servers (from src rpm), on one PDC (samba 3.0.21c) and on one standalone server without samba, in order to test samba4wins. I think I managed to install and to setup properly the software but it seems nmblookup is not working on the PDC samba: [user]$ nmblookup '*' querying * on 192.168.19.255 name_query failed to find name *

AMI ActionID.... Doesn't work
Is it well known that setting the ActionID when connecting to AMI has absolutely no effect? Is this fixed in Asterisk 1.4? If you add an ActionID to your Originate command for example, it looks like the only events that come back with an ActionID associated are the initial response, OriginateSuccess and OriginateFailure. That's it. No other events have an ActionID associated. This pretty much

calling dovecot exported auth from Java
As far as I have been able to figure out, dovecot auth always works over a Unix domain socket. I believe it is not currently possible to operate dovecot auth over an Internet domain (TCP) socket. Am I correct? I want to call dovecot's exported authentication from a Java application. Java doesn't natively know how to talk to a Unix domain socket, so there are inconveniences. There

how to get full channel name - AMI cuts off
Using Dahdi/PRI, I end up with channel names like 'DAHDI/i8/9995551212-4d6B', but when I do a 'core show channels' it cuts off those names to only 'DAHDI/i8/9995551212-'. This is the same for AMI. Is there a way to get the full channel name within AMI? I'm using asterisk 11.7.0 Thanks, -Justin -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Get channel variables via ARI/AMI
>> You use the AMI action Getvar[1] which allows channel variables and dialplan functions. >> [1] https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Asterisk+20+ManagerAction_Getvar I actually tried that, and although I get “success” I never get useful data. For example: action: Getvar actionid: act1 channel: PJSIP/Twilio-NA-W-2-In-00000025 Variable: channel(pjsip,call-id)

Get channel variables via ARI/AMI
The uppercase command made a difference. I now get a call-id as show below. However, does the call-id look valid? The @0.0.0.0 seems strange. action: Getvar actionid: act1 channel: PJSIP/Twilio-NA-W-3-In-00000028 Variable: CHANNEL(pjsip,call-id) Response: Success ActionID: act1 Variable: CHANNEL(pjsip,call-id) Value: 4decf884e3ae74595906283a74f7154e at 0.0.0.0 As well,
