Log and forward calls to cellphone?
Hello I don't have a landine and use a VOSP to provide access to the telephone network. In case a call comes in and I'm not home, I'd like Asterisk to log the call, and then send an SIP message to my VOSP so the call is forwarded to my cellphone and is thus charged to the caller, without Asterisk having to dial out to my cellphone through my VOSP at my expense and bridge the two

Asterisk + VOSP account working configuration?
Hello I'm having a difficult time finding precisely what to put in sip.conf and extensions.conf (and possibly other files) to get a working configuration to connect an Asterisk (1.4) server to a VoIP provider with the Asterisk server + SIP clients located in a private LAN behind a NAT router: http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/3749/asterisknat.png Would someone have a full, direct (ie.

Plantronics and Snom RF feedback
Hey all, after hooking up some Plantronics to some Snom's (3 320's 1 360), I noticed my client is having some form of feed back on the phone. Because of Snom's "inner oddities" this is how I got it to work. Plantronic --> RJ11 --> SnomHandset Port (on Snom Base) Handset --> Plantronic jack (bottom base in the front) If I placed Plantronic(RJ11) --> Snom's

Call sip:user@domain.com?
Hello At this point, I have an Asterisk 1.4 + PC running XLite behind a NAT set up with a VOSP trunk that I can use to make/receive calls to/from the PSTN. Now, I'd like to be able to call any number on the Net that is advertised as "sip:user at domain.com", such as those: www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Phone+Numbers Do I need to register a second trunk (FWD, etc.) through which

TDM400P > BT
Hi folks, Any Brits on the list got experience of hooking devices with standard BT plugs to the TDM400P? The TDM400P has the RJ11/RJ45 socket but I'm not sure if a standard adapter will do the trick or if we need to consider ring capacitors etc. Any links to buy the stuff would also be appreciated. Wanted: UK-specific hardware recommendations (FXO and FXS)
I have a pair of Asterisk servers which are happily routeing VoIP calls. I want to hook one of them to the PSTN. Given that I am in the UK, what is a reasonably easily-available device to provide an FXO interface from a Linux box, with a minimum of faffing around with drivers? Just one line is needed, though in theory two might eventually be useful. My usual white-box hardware suppliers don't

Dial timeouts and SIP 302 redirects
I have SIP handsets which allow the user to forward a call to another number after a specified interval of ringing time. On the SwissVoice this is refered to as CFNR (Call Forward on No Response). What actually happens is that after a specified period of time (default 15 seconds), the handset sends back a "302 Moved Temporarily" response to Asterisk. The problem is that when Asterisk

Digium TDM400P has RJ45 interface, how to connect to analog phone RJ11?
<div><BR>Hello,</div> <div>&nbsp;I bought a TDM400P, and intended to use it with my analog phone, which is RJ11 ofcourse. So, the question now, how do I plug in my RJ11 phone to the TDM400P card, which has an RJ45 interface? Also, since it's an 11B card, I also intend to bring in an analog line into the RJ45, so i am still left with the same question....how do I go

TDM400 with FXS some handsets not ringing
Folks, I have a TDM400 with an FXS module. I'm having some trouble ringing some phones attached to the device. I have a real el cheapo handset that cost me about 9UKP. It works fine, I plug it into the Wildcard and call the channel and it rings. I have tried plugging in my BT Diverse 3016 cordless phone but it will not ring, although I can call out from it. I have also tried my GPO 332L

FXS signalling for Ireland
Hi, I've installed a TDM400 card in an aging Dell Optiplex GXa (see my post a few weeks ago). The machine powers the card okay, it shows up in an 'lspci', and asterisk runs fine with it. I've tried both 1.0.4 and 1.0.5. The box in question is running a 2.4 kernel. However... I'm having trouble getting the card to work with a variaty of handsets attached to the FXS ports.

X100P Ireland Red Alarm (AR Tarzi)
Ahhh this could be my problem! I just checked which wires on the RJ11 cable had a voltage across them and it was the yellow and green (3 & 4?). From what someone posted the other day it's supposed to be Bumble Bee and Christmas Tree. I did have to get a technician out to fix my line when it was first installed because it was dead. Maybe he wired it up incorrectly or maybe they just do it

<no subject>
Hello, list. I've set up an outbound alerting system to play a recording when systems go down, etc. and I'm noticing that cellphones tend to answer() and then start ringing the actual handset. So far, I've verified this behavior with Verizon, T-Mobile, and Google Voice (the last produces a SERIOUS delta between bogus answer and actual answer). Has anyone figured out how to detect

Application to test STUN + broadband?
Hello I was wondering if someone knew of an application that could check that the user has a firewall and a broadband connection that will work OK with Asterisk and VoIP. The app would first perform some bandwith + jitter tests, and will then call a STUN server to check that the firewall isn't symetric. BTW, is Asterisk now STUN-capable, or is it still to map ports manually on the firewall

Configuring server to call SIP numbers on the Net?
Hello This is a newbie question : With a simple Asterisk server on a private LAN, an FXO port to handle the PSTN, and an ADSL connection to the Net, ie. with no VOSP in the mix... how should I configure Asterisk so that SIP clients can dial SIP numbers on the Net, such as those below to perform an echo test? www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Phone+Numbers I tried pasting numbers in XLite, but nothing

Monitoring second leg being dialed?
Hello My ISP provides an FXS port to plug a handset, which can be used to make free calls to (GSM) cellphones, similar to the Billion ADSL modems: http://au.billion.com/product/voip.php My plan is to install an SIP client on a smartphone, so that when I'm travelling, I can connect to a good wifi hotspot, register with an Asterisk server at home which has an FXO card, tell Asterisk the

Wildcard TDM400P (TDM40B) connectors
Hi, I'm no phone guy but I've been having quite a bit of fun messing with Asterisk. I just unwrapped my new Wildcard TDM400P (TDM40B) which is the new 4 port FXS PCI card. It has 4 RJ45 connectors and I'd like to hookup 4 regular phones which are RJ11. If I crip RJ45 connectors to the phone cords do I simple use the center two pins (pins 4 and 5)? Thanks, Randy Smith Tiger
