WG: OpenVPN question
Shorewall can run without openvpn, but you need it if you want to establish private networks through public structures.

WG: Cross subnet browsing + OpenVPN
What about your openvpn config?
The tun net must have an entry in your hosts allow.
If you work with briding the remote network has to be the same subnet as the
local!?
Bridging is the best way to have a remote net integrated.
I have one logging in form Berlin on my Samba-Domain.

Bug#499323: logcheck-database: Logcheck fails to ignore certain OpenVPN messages
Package: logcheck-database
Version: 1.2.54
Severity: normal
Tags: patch
Logcheck fails to ignore certain lines generated by OpenVPN; the attached patch
fixes several regular expressions:
* OpenVPN does not print the full path to ifconfig or route (at least here)
* The interface name can also contain dots and does not always start with "tun"
* The startup messages now gets suppressed

Bridging Firewall with windows OpenVPN road warriors?
I have previously set up an openvpn LAN to LAN bridging VPN so I know a
little about what has to happen. The gateways on either ends were
running older version of shorewall that did not support openvpn directly
so I just basically opened ports for it and used bridging with tap
interfaces. I am no longer using that vpn link to the other house but
now that i''ve upgraded I would like

Suddenly OpenVPN not working - backgrounds prompt for username / password
Hi folks,
I'm on a fresh install of CentOS 7 and take my config that works on
Ubuntu on the same box. Instead of getting a prompt for username and
password for the VPN I get a backgrounded task that spits this out :
[amckay at centos-gig ~]$ sudo openvpn --config /home/amckay/data/vpn.ovpn --daemon
Broadcast message from root at centos-gig (Sat 2015-07-25 22:59:13 EDT):

Open VPN connection problem on Virtual Box
Hi All,
I am working on a mystery. I am using
openvpn-2.1_beta7-gui-1.0.3-install on all
the computers in question. All computers
are running XP-Pro-SP2. (Mine is running
in a virtual window -- details below.)
This configuration works perfectly from my office.
I use it to call five facilities:
remote aa.bb.cc.dd
port 5030
proto udp
dev tap
ifconfig 192.168.240.30 255.255.255.0

[PATCH] Re-enabled :port portion of "UDPv4 link" openvpn rule
I see that this openvpn rule has been modified to no longer attach the
":port" part to "[undef]" -- probably to reflect a recent change in
openvpn. Unfortunately, the rule no longer matches in etch, thus
breaking the backport.
Here's a patch to match both versions.

Callback through extensions.conf?
Hello
I'd like to configure Asterisk so that...
1. I ring it from my cellphone with CID number displayed, just to
notify Asterisk that I wish to make a call
2. Asterisk waits until I hang up, calls me back, and prompts me for
the number I wish to call
3. Asterisk puts me on hold through Flash(), which is apparently the
equivalent of hitting the R key on European handsets
4. Asterisk calls the

Cross subnet browsing + OpenVPN
Hi All,
I'm having a problem with cross subnet browsing and name resolution across
an openvpn tunnel. i've found quite a few people who've had the same on
mail lists but none of their fixes have worked. The spec of the setups at
both ends of the tunnel are as follows:
OS - CentOS 5.5
Samba Version 3.5.4
OpenVPN Version 2.0.9-1
Each server is configured in gateway mode with two NICS,

openvpn recipe: comments, suggestions, help
Good day,
First off, I''m a complete puppet newbie, this openvpn recipe is pretty
much the first puppet work I''ve done so be gentle :-)
Secondly, the openvpn setup for Debian (and systems based on Debian)
allows each openvpn network (tunnel) to be specified using a separate
config file for each: /etc/openvpn/<vpn>.conf
Each tunnel can be then stopped/started/restarted
