2 way intercom recommendation for restaurant kitchens
Greetings, I need a 2 way intercom for separate kitchens to communicate without having to walk back and forth. The speaker has to be loud but clear, not distorted. Sometimes the kitchens can be noisy. It needs to be easy to use. It needs to be easy to clean. It would be nice if it used POE. Eventually I would like the kitchens to be able to dial different parts of the restaurant when I

multi-seated configuration
is anyone using a multi-seated configuration with CentOS? I'm thinking about buying a two 2 headed nvidia card to run 4 separate monitors and 4 separate keyboards and mice. I don't mind using either proprietary or opensource nvidia drivers. I'm looking for more information regarding centos and multiseated configurations. I've read a bit about fedora and ubuntu with

Better to use a single large storage server or multiple smaller for mdbox?
I'm trying to improve the setup of our Dovecot/Exim mail servers to handle the increasingly huge accounts (everybody thinks it's like infinitely growing storage like gmail and stores everything forever in their email accounts) by changing from Maildir to mdbox, and to take advantage of offloading older emails to alternative networked storage nodes. The question now is whether having a

Running XEN w/ native guest OS on HP Prolian DLxx servers
Hello, I''m searching for HP DLxx servers which may be capable of running XEN with full VT support. Looking at the HW compatibility list for both CPUs and chipsets, I found that the smallest machine (aka: a good platform to do the initial tests) may be the DL320G4 with model number 410786-421, since as reported by...

LAN switches with PoE? PoE phones?
Hi all, I'm looking for recommendations on ethernet switches for a new install. Ideally would want switches with at least 24 ports, ideally with a GE uplink, and that support PoE (power over ethernet) on every port. I've seen lots of switches, and lots of "power hubs", but the combination, which makes a lot of sense, seems rare. What is out there? Do the switches need to be

POE Switches and QOS
3com have some goods POE kit and some very nice managed wall jacks that supply POE and are fully managed. Here's an auction that the seller just closed:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=40990&item=5708757277&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Last time I spoke to him he had 5 boxes of 20 units and was willing to sell them at around $575 with a bit of arm twisting.

Sipura 841 delayed: other PoE options?
I -think- that the Sipura 841 was PoE... and I'd been anxious to find out. However, according to Atacomm.com, it's been delayed until mid-January. *sigh* So: does anyone know of a (decent) phone that meets the following criteria, and isn't too expensive? - SIP - two (or more) lines - some form of TCP/IP-based configuration - 802.3af (power-over-ethernet) - 100 Mbit passthrough (not

Cisco 7940/60 and 802.3af PoE

GXP-2000 Phones with Cisco 3560 PoE Switch
We are connecting the GXP2000 to a Cisco POE switch 3650, it the default mode at 15.4 for each phone the phones power up but we can only have 24 on a 48 port switch, when we adjust the setting to 7000 (which is what we calculate the phone to use) they don't power up ... we tried all the power settings from 7000 up to 154000 but it only powers up at 15.4, we should be able to get almost 48

Linksys 224P switch and Polycom PoE phones
Hi, I'm in a bit of a bind here, and I'd appreciate anyone who can help me quickly. I have a customer who bought a Linksys 224P switch (PoE enabled, with 24 ports). He also has 4 Polycom 501 phones, PoE bundle. Bizarrely, the switch doesn't seem to power up the phone, even though all ports have PoE enabled.

[PoE] Avaya 1152a1x
Sorry for posting slightly off topic, I use an Avaya 1152a1x midspan device to deliver power some Snom phones. The Power distrubution unit seems to be identical to PowerDsine PD-6024G/AC/M. I can get some basic information via SNTP (networking setup, uptime) but no port monitoring and no monitoring of power output using snmpwalk on the device. Does anyone has experience wit such an device?

POE draw on Aastra 480i
Anyone know what the POE draw is for the Aastra 480i phones? We have switches that will do 15 watts on 12 ports but only do 7.7 watts on all 24 ports. A Cisco 3560 switch will do 15.6 watts on all 24 ports. Just trying to find out if we need that much power. Can't seem to find any info on the Aastra site. Comments?
