rodbc or unixodbc error
Hi,
I'm trying to establish a connection to a MySQL database, and am using the
rodbc package for it. This is in a GNU/Debian Linux box, with the
corresponding Debian unstable packages. I can login to my MySQL databases
from any shell and directory, so the problem is probably not there. Here's
an example of what I'm doing:

Hello,
I am trying to set up cdr logging into MariaDB through ODBC.
I have installed unixodbc unixodbc-dev and now I am struggling with

Image display in R
Hi all,
I am trying to display a matrix of plots(images), for example a 3*3 matrix
of 9 image plots, such that when a user clicks on a image i can show the
enlarged plot. I tried the multiple graphic device(using mfcol=c(3,3) and
mfg), but it creates multiple plots in a single image file. So, i won't be
able to highlight a particular plot when the user clicks on it.

heatmap.2 in gplots package
Hello all,
I am using the heatmap.2 function in the gplots package. I want to supress the reordering of the columns of the data matrix i pass to the function. I used the statement,
heatmap.2(z,Colv=FALSE,dendrogram="row",col=redgreen(75))
where z, is the matrix of data. The output i want should have the rows reordered along with the dendrogram and the columns should be in the original

Segmentation fault in app_voicemail (ODBC/PSQL problem)
I have been testing with asterisk 1.4.11 and have found a segmentation fault while using voicemail.
It happens when I try to forward a voicemail. As soon as I press the option the server crashes.
I ran asterisk up inside gdb and got the following stack trace
====================================================================
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Learn Ruby before Learning Ruby on Rails ?
hello Friends,
I am a newbie to "Ruby or Ruby on Rails". A J2EE application architect
at my day job. A fairly experienced PHP web-developer as well. After
reading into the many articles on Ruby/ROR, have to admit looks pretty
good so far. Really serious about getting into this and possibly
developing some good Web 2.0 applications.
Just wondering the best way to learn Ruby on

file. Going forward we'll try to ensure we include such things in the
release notes as well.

It was easy to set up MySQL but I struggled immensely to get the stock
ODBC working with PostgreSQL (8.3), which has been discussed on the
mailing list before (Prof Brian):

[RODBC] ERROR: Could not SQLDriverConnect
2: In odbcDriverConnect(st, ...) : ODBC connection failed
