How to have Asterisk respond from the IP address used for registration
Hi, I have a test server with 2 NICs, each with it own IP address. Let`s say 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.3. I would like some phones to register by using 192.168.1.2 and some by using 192.168.1.3 as the address. Since the default IP is 192.168.1.2, that is the only working address. Every phone connecting to 192.168.1.3 fails to register, presumably because Asterisk answers back from

Multi-ISP :- Multi-Wan Broadband Router Appliance VS Multiple eth Linux routing
Hi all I need to use three 512 kbps aDSL internet connections, in a load-sharing, link-failover scenario. Presently I am using Ipcop with a single DSL. Now, I seem to have two options...one..an Edimax quad wan port adsl router, with firewalling and NAT and second install a minimal linux distro for routing...something on the lines of LARTC....and keep NATTING, IDS & Firewalling on the linux

marking and routing (with multi-isp) not working
[ I hope this isn''t a dupe. Evolution crashed on my last send and I see nothing in my logs that leads me to believe the mail made it out before the crash ] Well, it probably is working. I''m probably just misunderstanding something. Given routing rules that look like this: 0: from all lookup local 10000: from all fwmark 0x40 lookup CGCO 10001: from all fwmark 0x80

Multi-ISP with one Dynamic IP
I have two feeds, one with a static IP and one with a dynamic IP. How can I configure a Multi-ISP setup with the dynamic IP, or can I? I don''t think the gateway will change, just the interface IP. -- Chris Mason NetConcepts (264) 497-5670 Fax: (264) 497-8463 Int: (305) 704-7249 Fax: (815)301-9759 UK 44.207.183.0271 Cell: 264-235-5670 Yahoo IM: netconcepts_anguilla@yahoo.com --

Two ISP load balancing + One ISP'' subnet explicit routing
Hello! I have a problem. May be here exist anyone who has encountered with the following problem. I have a router which is connected to 2 ISP from external side and one LAN internal interface. The feature is that the one ISP allocates a subnet xxx.xxx.xxx.160/28 for me but I split it into two subnets xxx.xxx.xxx.160/29 and xxx.xxx.xxx.168/29 and assign the latter to the internal interface. Trying to plan for new multi-isp setup
I''m trying to plan out a new configuration for our new multi-isp setup. Part of what is confusing me is the asymmetry between the two setups. Our current ISP provides us with a router and our first public IP is used by its LAN port. Our new provider is not providing a router and I want to user our shorewall box as the router. I have 4 ports on it (currently configured for local,

Proper use of MASQ in Multi-ISP config
I am wanting to verify that I am properly using the MASQ for a series of hosts. I have 2 providers, and my providers file has the contents: #NAME NUMBER MARK DUPLICATE INTERFACE GATEWAY OPTIONS COPY l3 1 100 main eth0.100 1.18.139.1 track, loose, fallback eth1 ws 2 200 main eth0.101 1.155.136.193

Multi ISP, multi address, masq file
I''m planning a multi isp setup and cafully read the documentation. One thing that bothers me is the masq file. The example uses a single ip address on each public interface. I have multiple addresses on both public interfaces (16 on one and 64 on the other). I''m a bit confused about what to put in the masq file in this situation. Any insights would be appreciated. multi-ISP connections
I would appreciate help in the follwoing regard I have a linux box with IP 172.17.17.1 running squid-cache as transparent proxy for users on my Lan. I am fortunate to be in a building where two ISPs operate. I therefore connected to ISP1 via an ethernet through a router installed at my premises. The gateway of linux box is set to 172.17.17.2 which is the IP of this router. I would like to set

One more thing about Multi-ISP feature
Remember that when a network interface goes down, the kernel automatically deletes all routes through that interface. That includes routes in alternate routing tables that Shorewall has added as part of the multi-ISP feature. Bottom line: Shorewall must be restarted if any interface specified in the /etc/shorewall/providers file goes down then comes back up. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is

multi-isp and preventing certain traffic on a given connection
I have a multi-isp configuration: CGCO 1 256 main $CGCOIF detect track, balance br-lan,tun0 IGS 2 512 main $IGSIF detect track, fallback br-lan,tun0 where I force SMTP out one of the connections: 512:P br-lan - tcp 25 But the effect of that of course is that if IGS goes down, SMTP will leak out of the CGCO connection. How can I prevent that? Cheers, b.

Shore wall and multi ISPs and ip addresses
Hi All! I only ever have complex setups. Customer site has a dedicated leased line from their ISP terminating on a Cisco router. Router is configuered with the first usable address on a /28 network - 196.x.y.73. The linux firewall is configured with the remaining 5 ip''s, 196.x.y.74 to 196.x.y.78 and 79 as the broadcast. Sounds normal but here is the twist. The primary or first ip

Multi-ISP Connectivity Issues from Firewall only
Dear all, I have a multi-isp setup using DSL and leased line config for my firewall box using shorewall version 4.0.13. Clients behind the router can connect to the net without problem, they are always routed via the DSL (BusinessOne) provider. The problem i am having is that sometimes when the firewall tries to connect to the internet the connections time out (apt-get update, ping,

multi-isp dynamic connections - is shorewall right for this?
Hi everyone. We are putting together a network appliance for emergency management use, and it has to be adaptable to different network connections. eth0 is a connection to whatever physical ethernet is available on site, if any, including satellite. ppp0 is a 3G modem connection, if available br0 is the internal network supporting IAX2, SIP, general internet use and video monitoring, over eth1
