AmooCon video recordings online
JFYI and slightly off-topic: All of the videos we recorded at AMOOCON open-source VoIP conference (Rostock, Germany, May 4-5) are now available on the web site: http://www.amoocon.com/ All of them are available in different qualities and formats, including Quicktime 7, versions for the iPhone and iPod and h.264 which IIRC can be played in MPlayer etc. 100 GB in total. :-) Philipp Kempgen

Converting asterisk h264 recordings
Hello, We are setting up an asterisk system for voicemail with video possibilities. We are not using the voicemail app, but rather writing our own dialplan logic. The part of recording, and replaying, the voicemail works, and we receive both an h264 and an wav-file. What I now wonder is how to convert these into one file playable by a (standard) media player. I have not found any real good

ffmpeg2theora 0.24 regression: accelerated video output (converted from h264)
Here's another problem I have with the 0.24 version of ffmpeg2theora. When I try to convert a h264 file to theora... I always go on about mpeg4 and h264 as if they are the ideal, wheras in an ideal world something like ogg theora would be the

Stream HD video
I agree I have not seen any H264 streaming info for icecast2. If you are however interested in using ogg/vorbis (Theora) look up Theora Streaming Studio in the Theora Cookbook and it will give you some info. Additionally if you wish to script this task you can look up the info on the three commands TSS wraps, specifically dvgrab/ffmpeg2theora/oggfwd. if your source file is in a h264 medium you

Video Comparison
Hey all, I have followed a thread on golem.de, which was about an article regarding mozillas reasons, not to include h264 and to prefere theora instead. In the forum there was much talking about a lot of nonsens (as usual). But there is still a huge and loud number of people believing that theora has a significant worse quality compared to h264. Most test material I found does not focus real

error retrieving a video voicemail in asterisk 11
Using asterisk 11.16.0 I am unable to retrieve any voicemail with a video attachment while using any video phone. This does work in my 1.8.23.1 installation. The file is skipped with the ast_streamfile error (and moved to OLD), and the prompts following that message display the ast_best_codec error. Asterisk behind NAT Early Media Video
I just noticed, the calling device isn't even sending the early media video stream. It just sends an early media audio stream. Is there propably a change in the signaling needed? FYI: tagesschau.de partly with Ogg Theora
The news site of Germany's main public television station ARD now has some short clips in Ogg Theora: http://www.tagesschau.de/tagesschau24/ These are the "news in 100 seconds" clips, which are also available in mp4/h264. Curiosuly longer video-news are available as either flash or wmv? Regards, Hannes
