Cisco IP Phones and Skinny in asterisk 1.8.4.2 "tooooooooooooooooo"
Hi All;
Again, the Cisco IP Phones 7942G and using Skinny:
I upgraded the firmware to version 8.5 (skinny) and I am using skinny channel (chan_skinny) and the skinny.conf file.
The phones are registering, but when we use them to place a call, we only hear tooooooooooo in the handset and we do not hear voice (even when we dial the digits, we only hear toooooooo .. but it dials and destination

CentOS 7 32-bit WiFi Hardware Switch
Not exactly linux-dependent. According to the docs for the Latitude 620 (available on dell dot com), the wireless switch is on the left side. Slide it towards the front, until its raised position indicator is aligned with the I ("off" is aligned with the O). The WiFi power indicator is on the front panel, in a group with about 4 LEDs... the WiFi indicator appears to actually *say*

Cisco 7961 new firmware stops reading configuration files
Hello,
I have been running SIP41.8-2-2SR4S firmware on the Cisco 7961 and have
recently upgraded to SIP41.8-3-2SR1S to add the DND button on the front
of the phone and also to hopefully resolve some issues with the phones
not registering after a long period.
Once we upgraded the phones now display "Error Verifying Config Info" in
the Status messages and will not process the

Identify c-style pointer to array
HI all,
in C/C++, arrays and matrices often are passed as pointer so functions.
Suppose I'd like to write a pass operating on arrays , for example an
array of doubles passed via double * and checking for the type i will
identify a pointer to double (isAggregateType()=false).
As this style of passing arrays using pointers is widely used, I wonder
if there is any chance to identify a pointer

Experience with LLDP
Hello,
LLDP is more and more available on various network elements (endpoint,
switches, ...).
It seems to ease network configuration.
Do you have any experience with it ?
How would you rate LLDP ?

Do I need a CH1 licence for Cisco Phones ?
I've got a question regarding Cisco IP Phones and licencing.
When using a third party PBX like asterisk is a licence required for the
Cisco phones ? Has anyone got anything in writing from Cisco to clarify this
?
Eg can I just use CP-7961G or do I need CP-7961G-CH1 even though I'm not
using Cisco Callmanager ?

Registering a Cisco 7965 on 1.4.26
Hi,
I'm having a problem trying to get a Cisco 7965 phone registered on
Asterisk 1.4.26.
As we know, Cisco now, for security reasons, has made the phone ports
non-symmetric, in that it sends out UDP requests on a high port and
receives them on a different port.
It seems that, even with 'nat' set to 'no', that Asterisk is not
honoring the Contact header and keeps attempting to

Anyone can share their config file for Cisco phone please?
I have an *ipphone 7965G* which has to be connected to Asterisk. It has been
flashed with SIP firmware but the config file doesn't seem to work maybe I
am missing something in it.
I appreciate it if you can share your working sample config file with me.
Thanks

Issue after upgrade to 1.8.20 - Unable to connect to remote asterisk message on service asterisk start
I'm trying to decide if I need to open an issue for this or if it's just a
misconfiguration issue of some sort. Here's the situation - yesterday
morning, I downloaded asterisk 1.8.19.1 and installed it on a fresh CentOS
5.8 installation and got a shell of a basic asterisk install setup (minimum
required configuration files, etc, with no dialplan or sip peers setup
yet). In the

Polycom and auto answer
Hi,
I've been meaning to fix my non-working paging feature here for a while, and
I've just spent the last 5 hours looking at many, many web pages that all
say the same thing. I am using Asterisk 1.6.2.18 and Polycom phones, both
older (501 with "latest" legacy 3.1.7 firmware) and newer (335 and 650 with
latest 3.3.1f).
I have changed the correct values in sip.cfg like

Ring delay problem
Dear, I have asterisk 1.6.2.13 in a small hardware PBX (512 GB RAM and
Celeron), and last days when I call from one extension to another of the
same PBX after I dial the number the rings sound after 20 seconds.
In the CLI log, when I debug the AGI, I see always goes good until
dialparties.agi, and after that there are 20 seconds without any log, and so
the ring sound.

Cisco 7961G + 7914 Expansion Module
All,
Since I have now (at least partially) got my 7961G phones working
with Asterisk, I have temporarily moved on to try to get the expansion
modules working. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of
documentation here either. Does anyone have this combination working
(or any 79X1) here?
My goal is ultimately to do the monitoring approach. I have Google'd
around, but come up

Cisco 7961G
All,
I am having a lot of trouble with the Cisco 7961G phones. I have
managed to get them up and running with Asterisk to the point where I
can get incoming calls and make outgoing calls. The problem is when I
make outgoing calls or extension to extension calls, the calls die after
20 seconds. I have google'd around and came up with little that is of
help. The firmware version I am

STRFTIME function declared in globals context
I'm trying to declare a few date-related global variables to ease my

MONTH = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%m)}
DAY = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%d)}
TIMESTAMP = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%Y%m%d-%H%M%S)}
If I evaluate these variables in the dialplan later, using

Security Logging
Hello list,
I've got a client who's weak sip passwords are being guessed by remote
entities who then connect to their server and use it to wardial large
swaths of numbers. When they start receiving complaints, they call me
and I add the ip address of the remote user to the iptables drop list.
At the same time, my own personal asterisk server, using strong sip
passwords, has seen

Asterisk call transfers not working
Hello:
We have a TDM2433E Digium Card (12 FXS, 12 FXO) and Asterisk 1.8.7.0
running. Everything seems to be ok but call transfers. This is the issue:
*A, B, C and D are in FXS ports*.
1) A calls B. B anwers.
2) B tries to transfer the call to C dialing *2 (code for attended
transfer).
3) A hears MOH. B dials number C.
4) Asterisk says the dialed number is incorrect or non existing.
