debugging T.38 issues
Hello list,
We're currently facing some issues concerning T.38 gateway faxing.
This is a device used almost exclusively for receiving faxes. Calls
are incoming to asterisk on a SIP trunk (sangoma netborder) using
G711A. Gateway mode is activated in the asterisk dialplan towards a
Cisco SPA 112 running firmware 1.3.5. We are using asterisk 1.8.13.0
with the T.38 gateway patch applied (I know I

Sending faxes with T.38 problem. Asterisk - 1.6.0.6
Hello,
I'm having difficulties to make Asterisk (1.6.0.6) interoperate correctly
with a CISCO mediaGW in order to send faxes to the PSTN using T.38.
When Asterisk sends the initial INVITE containing the T.38 media offer in
the SDP, the CISCO answers with a 488 Not Acceptable Media.
Apparently, it looks like a configuration problem in the CISCO, but I have
tested the CISCO with the Zoiper

PJSIP / T.38 - Asterisk not passing on v21 preamble and data
Dear list,
happy new year!
I am still trying to make T.38 work. In the meantime, I have upgraded to Asterisk 13.1.0, and I am using the most recent PJSIP library (compiling that stuff myself). My local fax software is capable of T.38, as is my ITSP; Asterisk sits in the middle, of course. Asterisk is in the same private subnet as the local fax software and talks to the ITSP through a NAT'd

Error in ReceiveFax with T.38 -- Asterisk 1.6.0.7-rc2
Hello,
In my scenario, the asterisk machine is installed behind a CISCO
mediaGW in order to be able communicate with the PSTN. Asterisk is
configured to use T.38 to send and receive faxes.
I'm trying to receive a fax from a fax machine located in the PSTN.
Apparently everything goes well: the fax machine says the transmission
was successfully completed, and the fax file is successfully

T.38 Gateway
Hi everyone,
we're trying to setup a fax gateway from PRI to SIP. Our test setup
consists of two asterisk 10 machines connected over PRI and a third one
which is acting as a fax endpoint over SIP.
On the machine which is receiving over PRI, we see the following message:
[Jul 23 12:54:23] DEBUG[18288] res_fax.c: detected v21 preamble on
SIP/xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx-00000001, but DAHDI/i1/-2 does not

Create matrix with subset from unlist
Hello all,
I'm trying to create a 2x2 matrix, 32 times after unlist() so that I can
convert the list to matrix. I've looked through the R archive but
couldn't find the answer. There is what I've done.

I remember that I was having issues with an older libspandsp library.
I simply upgraded to the latest available version which made the issue

FW: error predicting values from the LME
HI all,
I might add some more information in order to possibly solve my problem. I'm
really stuck and no obvious solutions do the trick.
I'm using R 1.7.1 on Windows 2000 with the packages regurarly updated.
I'm using hypothetical data constructed as a pseudo population conforming to
a certain Var-Cov structure.
I might add that just

eigenvalues of matrices of partial derivatives with ryacas
Hello,
I am trying to construct two matrices, F and V, composed of partial
derivatives and then find the eigenvalues of F*Inverse(V). I have the
following equations in ryacas notation:

evaluation of discriminant functions+multivariate homosce dasticity
While I don't know anything about Box's M test, I googled around and found a
Matlab M-file that computes it. Below is my straight-forward translation of
the code, without knowing Matlab or the formula (and done in a few minutes).
I hope this demonstrates one of Prof. Ripley's point: If you really want to
shoot yourself in the foot, you can probably program R to do that for you.

Sweave UFT8 problem
Hi,
I work on MacOS, trying to Sweave an UFT8 document.
AFAI remember R 2.14 used to render a warning when the encoding was not
declared when using Sweave.
With R 2.15 it seems to render an error.
Sweave("sim_pi.Rnw")
Error: 'sim_pi.Rnw' is not ASCII and does not declare an encoding

Newbie question: How to represent parent-child denormalization
I am building a relatively trivial application to try to learn my way
around Rails. I am having difficulty understanding how to navigate a
heavily denormalized hierarchy. Could someone direct me to a bare-bones
explanation of using rails to navigate database hierarchies?

Problem with sample()
Hi,
I'm having a problem using sample() within a function.
Basically I get an error reading:

Can anyone advise me as to the possible origin of this error?

[LLVMdev] Loop vectorizer preamble
Hi Arnold, Nadav,
I've been taking a look at the preamble and bailout tests created by the
loop vectorizer, and I can't help but feel it could be rather conservative.
I'm not a vectorization expert, so I apologise in advance if say something
obviously wrong...
I'm looking in particular at the overflow check and the trip count
computation. From my reading, it goes something like:

sprintf error: "only 100 arguments allowed"
I'm trying to apply a function defined in the VW R docs, that attemps to
convert a data.table object to Vowpal Wabbit format. In the process i'm
getting the error in printf mentioned in the subject.
The original function is here:

Below there is a small example that reproduces the error. The function

Wouldn't it make sense to have this in the man page?
The 8192-byte limitation for 'fmt' is mentioned but not this one.
Thanks,
