Asterisk help please
Hi, I am new user on asterisk (for that matter linux) and i have lot of embedded programming experience. We have a new project from our client, to design a box that takes the telelphone line as input and route the line to the respective user with different ring tones. The box should be programmed by the users with buttons. Features. 1. I should be able to store some .wav files for different

Groups for implementing =91GSM Gateways=92" which leads me to believe (or h= ope at least) that more than one phone can be paired to a dongle. Dongles are so cheap I guess it doesn't really matter other than more complexity. Asterisk/app_rpt and bandwidth
Hello to the list, I have a question about Asterisk/app_rpt: When a signal is *not* being received and or transmitted by the radio system attached to Asterisk/app_rpt via its interface, is the incoming and or outgoing data suppressed (silence suppression)? In other words! At idle but still connected to some other device, what data will be transferred? I currently don't have access to a

Zaptel Not Releasing Channel (PRI)
I have an issue with one of my installations running Asterisk 1.4.20 that I need some help with. Not sure if this is new or not but Zaptel or Libpri is not releasing channels properly. I have had issues with calls that stay up for eight hours, long distance on the telco side, so it is more than just a nuisance. Does anyone know if there was a related bug in the 1.4 branch of Asterisk, Zaptel,

*Sort of Commercial* TracFone's $45 unlimited offer to 'stun' rivals
Great for Chan_Mobile and GSM modem for SMS in Kannel or if Asterisk supports SMS over GSM modem. I know chan_mobile had SMS in the future at one point but have not revisited the project since. "America Movil's MVNO TracFone Wireless quietly unveiled a prepaid, nationwide unlimited offering for $45 per month that includes unlimited text messaging and 30 MB of data."

Just Take dCAP at Astricon?
Since it is Saturday evening (7PM EST) I am asking this on the list in case someone who knows sees it and can answer. Astricon is in my back yard for the first time, and I could hit you with a rock. I would always like to attend, and spoke at the 2007 Astricon in Phoenix but don't have the idle cycles. Question: Can I just go to Astricon and take the dCAP exam only? In and out? Cost? I

autodialed call forwarding via meetme or queue (was predictive dialer)
Also posting this question to people working on manager interface and dialers. I have a simple auto dialing script (using Originate) that forwards all incoming calls to a queue full of waiting agents instead of a meetme conference room. I use queues rather than meetme so I can leave the automatic call distribution to the queue itself. The problem is when the calls reach the agents, some of the

Scaling
Hi, Quick question to the real world. Approx what specs would I need on server to handle 95 ZAP or Dahdi -> SIP gateway using G729 on the SIP to carrier side (nothing else, just media conversion)? Does the latest Asterisk/DAHDI significantly improve these numbers over say, Asterisk 1.2.X? Sure, there is plenty to read but nothing I could find quickly on my exact needs that was clear and I

BRIStuff would work on, but does not because US BRI is a bit different than other BRI around the world. About keeping secrets, which he doesn't, he has said that he had these patches for a long time now. At any rate, it is his code to whatever he wants. If he wants to charge for it, do consulting, or keep it a secret, it is not your business nor do you have any say what he wants to do with

Re: FRS and GMRS via *
You don't need to reinvent anything to tie radios to *. Ham systems like IRLP, Echolink, eqso etc all have fairly tight controls to keep from being abused (although with a little Linux knowledge, the IRLP package can easily be used to set up your own network using their protocol). Jim Dixon seems to have done the work to integrate radios with * already. See

Radio interfaces for Asterisk - ISO image distro
I just ran across these guys - looks very interesting: http://xelatec.com/xippr/install They distribute a self-installing ISO with Asterisk, FreePBX, and some pre-built software to do "radio over IP". You'll need to buy the USB radio hardware, but it looks really interesting as a pre-built system for radio trunking using some of the Asterisk capabilities. There is a

problematic p values for Dixon Q test
I am using R dixon.test in order to perform Q test for detection of outliers. The p-values for high Q values are consistent with the table in Rorabacher, D.B. (1991) http://www.flworkshop.com/sscs/dixon_test.pdf, but it seems that small Q-values get problematic p-values. For example: dixon.test(c(0.324,0.5,1,1.324),two.sided=T) Q = 0.324, p-value = 1

dixon test
I would like to extend Dixon's values beyond 30. I've read over Rorabacher article but didn't understand the equations well enough to convert them to Excel and then "drag" the cells out extending the n.
