Allison Smith, Music-on-Hold Parody--outstanding.
Allison Smith just created a hysterical parody music on hold Parody. Whatever you were doing, stop, and dial this number to listen to it: 360-519-5689. 2 minutes. I just gave her a few ideas, but she took it and ran with it--she chose the audio and did the mix-down and everything. Really funny!! -Karl -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Friday the 13th Muhahaha Allison Smith and more on the Polycom Applications
Hi, Allison Smith continues to contribute to the open source asterisk resources and she is launching a new site that will make it even easier to grab sound files. Allison joins us to talk about that and whatever else comes up. She says: "I have been the Voice of Asterisk -- the world's fastest-growing telephony platform -- since its inception (which for me, was marked by an animated

Allison Smith Hilarity
Greetings and salutations Asterisk community, I've been contacted by a man who has generously posted some prompts he commissioned from Allison Smith. If you haven't heard Allison in humor mode, you owe it to yourself to hear this. Joey Lindstrom has decided to place these in the public domain and he's asking Digium to include them in the Asterisk prompts collection. Because he's

Sendmail for Voicemail
When I send email from my local asterisk machine, my IP address get's RBL'd. Asterisk is my only reason for running sendmail, so to keep it simple, I tried to make my ISP's mail server a 'smart host' (relaying to a trusted mail server) but my ISP doesn't allow ANY kind of relaying these days. I imagine there are many like me who are not sendmail experts who want to

New voiceovers for Allison Smith: submit today
I'm sending in a set of voiceover requests to Allison Smith this afternoon. I haven't kept up with the -users list to know if there is someone keeping track of this stuff any more... We only have a few phrases for her to record, and if anyone has applications which require Allison's voice for the "asterisk-sounds" repository, let me know. I'll be sending this in

Who has the clever Polycom upgrade system?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I remember someone wrote a great document concerning Polycom server provisioning that provided a way to ensure that updates to the firmware did not overwrite customizations. I'll be damned if I can remember where I saw it. It may have been discussed during a VUC session or may have been on this list. Either way, I'm unable to google my way

AstDB/Berkely DB - Hash function? Balanced-Tree? b-Tree? Linked List?
Does anyone know enough about the implementation of AstDB to know whether the data structure is a Hash function, a Balanced-Tree, a b-Tree, or a Linked List? I'm trying to estimate the lookup 'cost' of a AstDB with around 160,000 keys? Obviously I already know that it WILL WORK, but the question is whether the data structure is optimal in the Berkeley DB AS IMPLEMENTED in Asterisk.

IMAP proxy - can it detect parodying to itself?
Hi all, I have some IMAP servers fronted with separate perdition processes, and it would be ideal if I could collapse this down to having dovecot do both the IMAP proxying and the IMAP serving at the same time on the same IP addresses. One of the fields in my LDAP entries contains the canonical name of the server that hosts their mailbox, and if I follow the manual at

I finally merged to merge the last bits of the blocky.swf stuff from Nguyen into the AS branch. I think with this I just reduced the number of outstanding patches to zero. Or did I manage to miss anyone's patches? If so, please speak up now. :) I intend to throw all the mad hacking of the last months into a 0.5.0 release soon (ideally this week, but as I know myself I will keep getting

SFTP and outstanding requests
I've been looking at the SFTP code and the filexfer RFC (and ended up answering my prior questions). I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to what might happen if the maximum number of outstanding requests was increased. Currently its set in sftp.c at /* Number of concurrent outstanding requests */ size_t num_requests = 16;
